yeah... I dunno about Japanese.. but the way they write Utada in Japanese is exactly the same as in Chinese.. so
宇 = universe
多 = many
田 = field, farm
光 = light
but the meaning should be totally different once the characters placed together.. so probly 宇多田 means something in Japanese... I just dunno
