If not for her live tours, I would have ditched ayu entirely a long time ago.

IMO, the album versions of her songs are too high pitched, the instuments are incredibly boring and monotone, and the songs are synthesized beyond belief. I love watching her tours. I really get to hear her mature voice and her band and it's so interesting when she actually puts on visuals (i.e. Arena Tour 2005!) I find myself ripping mp3's from her concerts and listening to those versions over the album ones.

Also, since she has a wide variety of music genres that she experiments with, it's hard to get bored with her. You'll have an artist that does good dance music, but what do you do when you get bored to listening to dance music for the day? With ayu I can switch over from rock, ballad, pop, trance/eurobeat (remixes) anytime. i love how she's established herself in so many places. The sky's the limit.

And then I can never really let go of her lyrical compositions. I think they are well done (abit a little "stilted" sometimes if you get what I mean--but i'm sure that it's just the language barrier) and even though in the future I can see myself listening to other artists over ayu, I will also see myself remembering her lyrical composition over anything.
