Compare that to this year where Ayumi's sales have fallen to under 200,000 and none of the supposed "successors" to her throne are selling well either.(Koda's album is selling great, but we are talking singles here.) That just looks sad.

I know that Jupiter was released in 2003. But what I was trying to say was that at the same point last year, there was still a lack of female singles too. There wasn't a 200k selling single until STEP you's 2nd week, which is pretty much in line with this year. (but of instead of ayu, its ayaka) As for BoA and Mika, all I can think is maybe the post-BEST album craze hit them?
Since Kumi hasn't released any singles outside of the 12 this year, we cant really say anything. But, all 3 of her non limited ones did pretty well. Yes, Someday/BoysGirls didnt pass 100k; but that was released 2 weeks before the album. Compared that to Promise/Star which was also released 2 weeks before her 1st best album in september, Someday/BoysGirls did a lot better.
