CASETTE TAPES ARE STILL ALIVE!!!!
I used to use those mostly.. I've converted by main use to CD, though...
And for Video Cassette tapes, I still use frequently.
Hmm... It's ashame you can't rip music from cassette. I have an ancient No Doubt tape that I love.. I just don't really have a good tape player... D:

If the Media was smart, they still wouldv'e continued to use casettes...
You can't rip that stuff and put it on the internet!
