I'll answer this for you immel, because some people using the term in this thread don't seem to understand it either.
You can't really say a song is overrated if you love it. That makes no sense. Obviously you agree with the general consensus that the song was excellent. So if someone is saying that, say, "M" is overrated, yet they love it, it's kind of a contradiction

Now, if you aren't quite as fond of a heavily praised song, you can call that overrated. For example, I didn't find "M" or "Dearest" to be that amazing, so I could say it was overrated since so many others think those songs very good. Now if you like a song, but don't think it's as amazing as the general consensus seems to think, you could also call it overrated.
Really confusing, I know.
It all comes down to personal preference since songs convey different feelings to different people. So technically, overrated/underrated might not actually be correct terms to use since I just might not have received the same messages from "M" and "Dearest" as someone else.
