Add the European audience to that aswell... yeah, and I think that gives some weight behind your thought about that Ayu would very possibly be looked down upon for her mistakes by those audiences.

I'm quite sure they would react differently, how different is very hard to say though. Ayu had a major breakthrough before she was even given the chance of making a single mistake I think.

That is only the translators interpretation, she doesn't actually use a word like that, I'm quite sure because me and some other have looked into it... I'm not very good at Japanese though.
