if ur usin goldwave then there's an easy way to do it.
highlight the whole audio file, then go to the menu...
effect -> stereo -> reduce Vocals.
use the "simple cancellation" preset. what it does is remove the centre channel of the song which is where most vocals are panned (if there's anything that's not panned either left or right, they'll be removed too). youll find that youll end up removing parts of the song too, like the bass and some drums. you can try play with the other presets but simple cancellation usually gets the job done. and this method is better than using the "bandstop" method.
