Lacuna Coil are quite good, I like that kind of music but a bit heavier, say
Nightwish. I havent heard very much of
Tool, but the little I've heard reminds me a bit of Lacuna Coils style, might also be something to try out.
Er.. well, American music you said, I don't know about Lacuna or Tool, but Nightwish are from Finland
