Wow. Oh my God. It was absolutely amazing. My mom and I got to Mohegan Sun a bit early, so we walked around a bit and checked out the stores, then decided to get a bite to eat. We got in the arena at around 6:45, and waited for almost an hour (it was scheduled for 7:00, but they started later). I was sitting in one of the closest sections to the stage, but in the back, although I could still see just fine. Wyclef Jean was the special guest, so there he did a couple of songs with his band, which I didn't care for (although Wyclef Jean is a surprisingly good guitarist, if he was indeed playing for real). After that was over, Shakira didn't come on until around 8:30, but it was worth the wait. She opened with Estoy Aqui, and it rocked hard. She continued to play some of my favorites (she got Inevitable, Si Te Vas and Ojos Asi in there, so I was happy). It was AWESOME when she performed No, because she changed her outfit to this big dress, and she did this really cool scarf dance (the "sleeve" of the outfit had like...sticks in them, so she could swing them around). It looked extremely awesome. She came out into the crowd (on my side, which was awesome) and tried to make people sing, but everyone was too "scared." One guy avoided the mic. She ended up putting the mic up to a pregnant woman's stomach. :p She rounded out the night performing the song everyone was waiting for, Hips Don't Lie. What was awesome was that she used the dancers she had during the VMAs, which is like only the second time she's done that during the tour. Confetti shot out near the end of the song, and it was extremely awesome. So all in all, it was an AWESOME night and one of the best concerts I've been to. I got a poster; I wanted to get a shirt, but they were like 40 bucks (poop on that). I didn't get any pictures because the batteries my mom brought for her camera were dead, but my friend Joel got a couple. Here's two good ones.
