Personally, I think people are supporting Ayu in other ways. For example, they go to her tours faithfully, and obtain her album through uta-chaku and iTunes. It's probably a general trend that is happening in Japan now. In all, I think the sales would be extremely good, but people might not support as much in terms of purchasing tangible media product goods.
Personally, I'm a bit disappointed by the sales, it certainly deserves much higher sales! But yup, I think it's very good by compared across the entire industry. Remember, low on Ayu standards doesn't mean it's low across the board.
