Thasnk god, I guess, that I haven't heard the James Blunt song yet. And yeah, the thing with Hips Don't Lie is very very odd, Loose definitely should be up there. I'm glad india.arie got a few nominations, though. I know she won't win any of them, but I Am Not My Hair is definitely a great song, and Testimony is an incredible album. Girl's long overdue for a win, especially after getting screwed over many years ago when she debuted.
I thought Be Without You was a really, really great song - definitely better than We Belong Together, even if it kind of built upon its foundations. Mary's got a great voice, very emotional, the song has sweet lyrics, and the music is very atmospheric - wintry, catchy, and beautiful. Love Mariah, but she still focuses more on sounding pretty than getting to the heart of the song.
