I think they were going for some color contrast and double meaning.
Wearing all black with a white dress shirt is the preferred attire to attend Japanese funerals (although the bowties throw me off) so maybe the dancers represent death in the past and are waiting desperately waiting for spring to come (hence, they sing "Spring, please hurry")
Very relevant as the world is hopefully at the tail end of COVID
