What exactly is Freixenet Cava?

I've seen the CM, so I do know that its a alcoholic drink, but what type is it exactly? Is it Champagne?
Why is it called "Freixenet Cava"?
Is it expensive?

Cava is similar to champagne, the only differences concern the different geographical locations (Champagne is French and Cava is Spanish) and also the types of grape used.

In my country (Spain) a bottle of the Cava sponsored by Ayu cost around 30€ (40$).

Wow, I was kind of wondering about it too. So...is Ayu actually featured in Spain for this product, or just in Japan?

I'm afraid i didn't explained well myself... sorry ^^U

This year in Spain Freixenet is sponsored by Pierce Brosnan and Nieves Álvarez (an spanish model)

I intended to say that the same variety of Freixenet Cava (the black bottle featured in the Japanese TV ad with Ayu) cost here around 30€... but unfortunately Ayu is NOT advertising it here.

Hmmm I dont usually like wine or champagne... pink zinfandel's okay if it's sweet... I'll have to try some sometime. Until then... I like grape juice just fine!
