Your own meaning, your story~

Is there any story or memory behind an Ayu song you remember? Or maybe special meaning, even a funny situation?

I just played A BEST/A BEST II and that idea come to my mind. Don't talk about how you loved the song, but about the whole world beside it, but matches someway with the song~ I'll write mine, and you'll know what i mean ;D

1. YOU
When i was younger (and started listening to Ayu) i was writing my own lyrics for songs i was listening. YOU is the only one song, i have found paper sheet with lyrics with my own song. I remember it was a song for a lonely girl.

2. Fly high
/also at my "newbie" era with Ayu's music/
I was 100% sure that this song CAN'T begin like that. I was sure that it was cut. And I was looking for un-cut version (yeah, as you know, I never found it, cause it's originally "bomb with music" effect.)

3. Key & girlish
I've downloaded them near Christmas and i still remember what i was doing while i was listening to them. I remember my room with red lights prepared for christmas, and that i was playing a soft porn game on my pc (XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD) But instead of the game, i just love the memories of that time. I was carefree and still a teen without a problem. My heart melts when i hear both songs.

4. Daybreak / NEVER EVER
I've downloaded NEVER EVER and Daybreak with my friend in Internet Cafe, and i always think about him when I'm listening to both songs. But the main story with Daybreak it's the lyrics. My friend moved from Poland to Ireland (yeah, quite far away) and there's a verse
"No matter how far apart we are,
we're still under the same sky.
Don't forget that we're both
travelling to the place"
we once dreamed of.

That's why this song it's our song.

5. Real me
One of the song that reminds me who I was, and who I am.

6. Memmorial Adress
When i downloaded the song, i had the this song on cd, and i was listening to it on my parents DVD. I've putted a full base, and a max volume. Cause i thought it was a slow, decent ballad. When the guitars came I've fall of the bed and had a heart attack. Seriously.

7. INSPIRE/GAME single
When it was realasing, i didn't have still internet on my house. I heard the cm/or preview (? don't remember) AND I WANTED THIS SONG SO BADLY and i had to beg my friend for download it. He told me to wait one day but i stayed behind his door and I was begging and yelling for the single cause i was so impatient (XD)

8. No way to say
My friend that died, he didn't liked any of my japanese/asian music. It was the only one song, he loved.

9.Is this LOVE
When my ex-boyfriend breaks up with me, i was listening only to this song. Cause the lyrics was just like made up for me. It telling exactly the same story as I was into.

10. rainy day
Same as above, but I wroted diffrent lyrics and I just can't imagine nobody but him, when I hear this song. I've listened it too many after breaking up. But this song was like a med, it was saying to me that he lost something special.

11. ourselves
I've danced to ourselves on some school charity day. I was freaking nerveous, cause i was freestyling by myself. Everybody loved it O_o

12. kiss o'kill
When I'm liseting to it, i always imagine about my ex-best friend. And taking a sweet revenge for what she did to me (XDDDD)

13. Microphone
We had free time on May and went to my friend's "summer house" and we were drinking like crazy. Just imagine me singing Microphone drunk as hell. I will always think about that party when i hear Microphone O_o

I still don't have lot of memories with 3 latest albums, lol

My memories behind certain Ayu songs:

1. Free and Easy: -- The message behind the PV and the song (even if it was only a 30-second preview)...just resonated with me. I was 14 when this song came out and I was just surfing the Web when I saw the clip on some Bonsai website and I remember being so amazed with Ayu. I was thinking, getting all excited, "What language is this?! Where's the translation?" I found Ayumi.Primenova website and I cried like a baby when I saw the lyrics....they resonated with me like this.

2. rainy day-- I also wrote different lyrics for this song and I remember that I tried to sing it for a teacher that I had a crush on in high school. I get embarrassed to this day because he said I should become a poet and a singer after that...I was like, "Uso! I thought it was terrible!" (Laugh)

It's only two that stick out in my head right now....those with the strongest memories...

Cool idea for a thread! I have so many memories associated with Ayu's songs, but here are some that immediately come to mind for whatever reason.

Trust -
This was the first Ayu song I ever heard. One day I downloaded it off of napster (lol so long ago..) and I was so struck by earnestness of her voice (after I was like "omg so squeaky" XD). I remember spending hours after that printing out and drawing pictures of ayu... I still love to draw her!

Trauma -
I'm pretty sure this is the second song I downloaded, and the first song I learned the lyrics to. One night I stayed up til morning memorizing them... it was so hard but I wouldn't stop until I could sing along. I think doing things like this helped me develop an ear for what "sounds right" in Japanese and made learning the language later on easier. So I look back fondly on that night it started

girlish -
My family and I were on a road trip (I was like 11 or 12) and of course I was miserable . This song made me feel better so I played it on repeat on my cd player. At some point I played it in the car's cd player and my older sister even said she liked it (which is oh-so-important at that age). But I also threw up when we were driving through the mountains so it's associated with that, too :/

the one that stuck out to me is... Days

lol omg I feel so stupid now but I remember crying buckets when I first watched the PV when it first came out cos I felt like it was the story of my life then, about my crush and myself and all... like "omg Ayu wrote this song and made this PV for me" kinda feeling...

I used to get reli emotional whenever I watched it, but now that I realized what a jerk my crush was what with making use & lying to me... I don't have much feelings watching it anymore; it's still one of my fav Ayu songs & PV though

I will always remember poker face. I remember my friend who introduced me to Japanese music was sitting at his laptop, looks up at me, smiles and says "hey Jen! Wanna see something cool?", so, curious me of course, says yes. We ended up watching SO many Ayu PVs and CMs that night. I was immediately addicted, but the first song he put on for me was poker face, so I always associate that song with the very first time I listened to her, and it will always remind me of my friend Jer. It always puts a smile on my face.

None really, other than Appears. It was the first Ayu song that I tried to learn every word of.

Also Catcher in the light, I was on the bus while lip-synching, and right across me sat the most gorgeous guy in the world, grinning at me *felt really small*

Just the lyrics in ASFXX "I was born alone. I'll go on living alone."
and the first verse in SURREAL.

I will not take responsibilities that I'm not ready to accept so
I will go on living alone because I was born alone.

And Then
It was my first Ayu song, I listened it to like million times non-stop .

evolution
Most influential Ayu song to me - lyrics, PV, music, lives, everything. And she's gorgeous in the PV, almost like too perfect to be true! It made me exicited about new things, since it was the first Asian PV I saw. It really inspired me, it kinda triggered some kind of passion inside me, which is still there. Not suprisingly, it's still my favorite song from Ayu.

There are also many many other Ayu songs, lyrics and PVs which inspire and touch me, too many to list...

It Was
This is the song I discovered and listened to constantly when my first love broke my heart. The lyrics are like a perfect match with what happened in my life. Also, it felt like my own little song, because it didn't get any attention from Ayu. no single release, no PV, no performance, nothing. It kinda feels like nobody but me knows about this song, which made it even more special.

(It's of course completely false, since everyone on this board knows and probably loves this song, but that's not the point )

Sunrise ~LOVE is all~
I always remember this one. I have just got RNC, and I watched the PV`s with my sister in the living room. [She likes Ayu but isn`t a fan] Then suddenly, my parents came, and started to watch it too. I was lke "Oh, so it seems that we all are watching this now?" My mom commented, that "She`s really pretty, and looks so young" but the best one was my dad XD
He almost danced when he heard Sunrise. He said also, that "This song is pretty good" XD It was really confusing and nice :,D

RNC album as a whole, will be always really important to me. When it came out, It was my last year at middle school. [last months] When I heard Lady Dynamite and looked at the lyrics. I almost laughed.
Word to word, those boys in the song...they were just like our classes ones. The whole song seemed to tell about our class really. I felt so energized always and still when I listen to that song. It was so amazing : D I`m still thinking, that Ayu would have made a perfect PV with our class with that song XD Just look at the lyrics at that song, and you know 100% how our class behaved, at least when we are talking about the boys...

Also, of course I was really emotional when I knew that soon our time would end. I had such nice girls in my class~<3 I think that meaning of Love tells about it perfectly. Also this sentence:
You smile broadly and innocently
Happily with down-slanting eyes
You suddenly sulk like a child
You are easily moved to tears

This reminds me of one our Finnish classes. We were doing speeches. I talked with my friend, and suddenly I started to cry. I just...it felt so sad when I knew that soon I would have to say bye to my friends. However, at first I tried to look happy, just like in that song.

I was really nervous about starting high school. I thought that this part in Microphone gave and gives me strenght:
Change is very nice
But it doesn't mean losing yourself
It's just so, on the condition that you have the root
You've held on up to now and will hold on hereafter

It reminds me, that changes aren`t bad thing. They can be really fun.

Don`t look back is also that kind of song. It tells perfectly how you feel like when you feel unsure. And can`t show your real self fully. I think I can show my real self to my friends now. It`s kinda like the lyrics:

(Don't look back) It's my uncool side
(Don't look back) That is dear to me
(Don't look back) I can smile now
(Don't look back) Just because I passed through the period

Especially in middle school you easily feel that you can`t show your real self. I actually made a speech about it in ninth grade. I`m really happy, that I passed that period. However, this song is still important to me, because I feel quite unsure about some things still..maybe it has to be like that when you are young..?

There are also some other songs and lyric parts in RNC which I can recognise "me".

NEXT LEVEL is important to me too, because it`s full of super happy memories of summer 2009. I was overhelming with happines when I got that CD. I still smile a lot when I heard certain songs form NL~

Oh, and Boys & Girls was the first song I heard from Ayu, so of course it`s special : 3

The first song I've ever heard from Ayu. I used to listen to it like 50 times at day .

JEWEL
This is like the only song who friends of mine love from her. We were on car, during a long trip and we started to sing it along. Was really lovely.

A Song for XX
This is the song that makes me said 'Ayu is truly the singer I have ever searched. Those lyrics suits perfectly with myself'.

GAME was the song I would listen to all the time before I had a tennis match. I'm convinced if I ever had an entrance song as a fighter/wrestler pretty sure it would be this song.

This is such a cool idea for a thread~! I've got a lot of memories with different Ayumi songs, but I'll type out the strongest;

evolution
My first Ayumi song! My friend showed me it over Youtube. She'd found it while looking for D.N Angel amv's (an anime) and someone had made a montage of clips to this song. We watched it over and over...we found out the singer and decided to keep on trying to find more songs of hers. I just remember us watching it like 50 times in a row trying to learn the super-fast chorus I was about 12.

Moments
The same friend bought her single Moments and brought it over (she was richer than me lol ) We looked up the romanji and practiced singing it for ages xD

I play A Song for XX for every major event in my life. It reminds me to be strong, to be who I love to be.

Less seriously:
LOVE 'n' HATE-- walking down a street, singing that with friends at the top of our lungs.
Dearest-- hearing this come on a friend's CD. I had heard it before, but now I was really interested. I resolved to get to know this artist better.... XD
ANGEL'S SONG-- opening a website and hearing it, while I was brand new to Ayu, and being so excited that other people had heard of her. How little I knew...
***Mirrocle World-- walking in front of the Eiffel Tower, pretending to be Ayu.***

I have lot's of memories with different songs... Mostly remixes since they were some of the first material I heard by Ayu... (PREPARE FOR A BIG POST CAUSE' I LIKE WRITING.)

End roll (HAL’s MIX)-I remember getting this song in 2006 and always listening to it while I did laundry...

everywhere nowhere (NEWDEAL REMIX)-When I first heard this song I thought the sound seemed to close to my ears and to repetitive. Now I love it!

Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~ (Original Mix)-I remember when this first came out and listening to it over the summer at least every day!

Endless sorrow (Hex Hector Main Radio Mix)-When I first heard this remix in 2008 I thought it had a feeling of hopelessness and I hated it. Then I went back this year and now love it to death!

Trust (GROOVE THAT SOUL MIX)-I found this remix in 2008 and this was the first Ayu song I learned the lyrics to.

monochrome-I remember being in 5th grade and hearing this song on a video for the visual novel "Kanon". No one could tell me who the song was by but I loved it! I listened to it almost everyday. Then when in 2006 I found "monochrome" on iTunes and was so happy to know who the singer of this epic song is!

Trauma (JamX & DeLeon's DuMonde remix)-This was one of the first Ayumi songs I downloaded and I still love it! It's a powerful Vocal Trance remix!

glitter-I remember listening to this a lot when it first came out. The background chorus is just so CUTE! Sounds like cute little girls...

monochrome (ayu-ro Extended Mix)-When I was in 8th grade I listened to this all the time, it's so catchy!

evolution (UFO Remix)-I remember hearing this in 2008 right after I had a epic dream and thought it matched the dream spot on!

monochrome (D-Z WHITE INSTINCT Mix)-I remember hearing this version on YouTube in 2008 and had to have it! I would always imagine it as the opening to one of my stories or something.

evolution-When I was first getting into Ayu and looking her up on YouTube all I found were piles of videos all featuring this song!

SURREAL (Marc et Claude remix)-This song reminded me of my friend Chandra so I always listened to it in 8th grade.

M-All it took was one time for this to become my favorite Ayu song!

POWDER SNOW (dub’s sentimental remix)-When I was sad this remix always chilled me out in 2008.

talkin' 2 myself-This was one of my first Ayu songs! I remember in 7th grade I literally listened to it ten times each day.

too late-I remember buying this song on iTunes in 2006 becuase I thought the preview sounded like "Sunrize" by Nami Tamaki. Now I love this song so much!

evolution (Goldenscan remix)-I remember singing loudly to the "NA, NA, NA, NAA!" part.

Hana (D-Z DEADLY ROSE APPROACH)-I discovered this song in 2008 and found it to be so kick-ass! I would listen to it on weekends and try to sing along...

M (Above & Beyond Remix) (VOCAL MIX)-I remember downloading this and never listening to it. Finally one time while I was doing the dishes I listened and loved it so much!

SIGNAL (GROOVE THAT SOUL MIX)-In 2008 I always listened to this song at least three times before I went to bed.
