Dark Music

Hey guys!
So I was wondering if anyone has come across any dark sounding music?
I'm trying to make a playlist to go along with something i'm writing.
Stuff I already have is:
Crazy in Love (50 Shades of Grey Remix)
Breath of Live - Florence and the Machine
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Lorde version
I'd Love to Change the world - Jetta

any help would be great!

Depending on what you mean by dark sounding, here are a few songs I like for my own writing. Of course, the preferred music depends on the mood of the scene.

Skillet - Falling Inside the Black
Amberian Dawn - Cold Kiss (2013 Version)
Amaranthe - Exhale

My playlist is a little rock/metal heavy so it can be aggressive in sound and lyrics.

Lana Del Rey - Old Money
Lana Del Rey - Dark Paradise
Lana Del Rey - Carmen

They're dark in a melancholy fashion though, rather than just "dark" like Lorde's version of Rule the World.

Maybe you could try out Sóley, she has some dark music. I would recommend you songs like "Kill the clown" "I will never" or "Ævintýr"

Oooh great choices! I would also add the Silent Hill version of Always On My Mind. The only version of that song I like!

Other recommendations - not sure if it fits what you're after or if you already have these but...:

Raign - Raise The Dead
Raign - A Queen's Head
Chihiro Onitsuka - This Silence is Mine
Chihiro Onitsuka - Inori Ga Kotoba Ni Kawarukoro
Florence + the Machine - Heavy In Your Arms
Patrick Wolf - Damaris
Hurts - Sandman

You might already heard " Cold " - Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz . It's a soundtrack from Breaking Dawn part.1. I think it's dark, gloomy yet ethereal. Genius on lyric too.
Other than that maybe M83 feat. HAIM - Holes in the sky ost. Insurgent.

If you decide you need even darker music than the already mentioned, you can check Portishead first two albums, Diamanda Galás (she is the queen of horror in her first albums), Nico's albums The Marble Index, Desertshore and The End. Then, as for boys, Coil are masters (were, they both passed away ) I suggest their last album, The Ape of Naples. Current 93 have many horror songs, but his albums Dog's Blood Rising and The Inmost Light are among the scariest stuff you'll ever hear Enjoy!
