A little over 3 years, back when I discovered Ayu. Thank god I did.

But before that I used to listen to j-pop too, mainly anime theme songs like Dearest, but I had no idea who or what I was listening to back then, it just sounded good to my ears

To those of you who started listening around the same time as I, 2002-2003, what did you listen to first?

Stop your crying woman, some of us are turning 25 ;_; I just bought an anti-wrinkle BB cream. HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL.

This is so not relevant, btw, sorry.

I listened to my first Japanese songs back in 2003-2004. Mostly anime soundtracks that friends at school sent me - singers like Chiba Saeko, Utada Hikaru and Crystal Kay come to mind. I quickly became bored with the anime kind of sound though and seeked out the rest of their discographies, eventually discovering artists like Ayumi, YUI and Ai Otsuka back in 04-05. The rest is history.

So, ten years this year that I've been listening to J-Pop. Doesn't seem like it!
