Ayumi plans for 2015 World Tour and 2015 New Album, could this be a rumour?

According to a source from a Chinese website, apparently Ayu is in the midst of recording tracks for the new album privately which Ayu has returned to her original musical style & she will be bringing a big surprise!

Come on... Does no one know that mediamass is a fake news site?
http://en.mediamass.net/blog/mediamass-project
Quote:
The project's name is an ironic reversal of portmanteau “mass-media” (media for the masses) in “media-mass” which here means “media en masse” as mass production and therefore mass consumption are the object of our criticism.
The ‘People’ section is a humorous parody of Gossip magazines, all stories are obviously not true.

I wouldn't be surprised if she announced she's recording a new album, but a world tour? No, I don't think that's gonna happen.

I don't get how this is even supposed to be a joke lmao. I mean... unless they're trying to make fun of the fact that she'd propose a world tour when she obviously couldn't sell one at this point? But I don't see the humor in that lol

I agree lol
I think this part explains it all, especially the second part:
Quote:
The website mediamass.net is the medium of our satire to expose with humour, exaggeration and ridicule the contemporary mass production and mass consumption that we observe.

Also it will not only mock the producers (mainstream media, journalists) as it is common when questioning and criticizing mass media, but also the consumers as one cannot exist without the other. Sensationalism, lack of verification of information, ethics and standards issues are only symptoms of the actual social and economic order. This is particularly obvious when observing the role of social networking sites in spreading rumours.

I don't believe she could even sell out theaters in most of the Western World. Neither could Kuu... small chance maybe Namie could do a little better, but not much. They don't have the popularity enough on an international basis to pull it off and it doesn't help that avex... heck almost all music labels in Japan are keeping the international promo opportunities at a minimum. (ie. youtube videos limited to Japan, facebook posts [mostly] all in Japanese ONLY, Oricon not counting purchases from overseas on charts etc).

Only part of this I'd believe is her working on new songs. Ayu releases a new album every year, always has, so her working on a new album is about as much of a surprise as her announcing her yearly CDL concert.

If it's true, it's about damn time! Considering she's mainly residing here in America, she'd probably consider a show here (and maybe some in Europe) to be close to home and her personal life....it would just make sense.

That's because no Japanese artist has ever tried before. Lots of K-pop artists have in the past few years and have been VERY successful. Ayu did get a tiny bit of press in 2002 here in the US for a review of her spitting skills for Evolution and the TIME magazine feature. But shes mainly known here for 'Dearest' as one of the ending themes in Inuyasha, but most of those people don't know her exactly and just more so if the song. Since her sound is more western now and getting more noticed globally, it's the perfect time for her finally show her skills to the western world.

^^And Koreas also being more open in general to the planet. Its one reason why KPOP's become so popular internationally. U dont get blocked from watching full videos on youtube, they make their fb posts in other languages besides Korean, they open up online shops on places that dont require tenso or other services to buy their stuff, if you purchase a physical copy of their cds it counts on their charts, most kpop is showing up on all worldwide iTunes stores at the same time, some artists are doing songs with US artists that actually get a full proper American release (ie. 2NE1 & CL/GD with Skrillex & Will.i.am) etc.
I admit that I'm not tremedously into KPOP, but I do think their methods are contributing to its popularity and reasons why their artists can do so much more on a Global Scale. Sadly Ayu doesnt have that to work with.

Let's face it, no Japanese artist could do a full world tour and expect it to do well.

Japan is trying to push itself but it's own government is blocking access to showcase it online, their laws are specifically designed to keep foreigners out and away from accessing their artists.

I would LOVE to see Ayu perform in my country, but it's so unlikely to happen.

A new album is kind of a given though haha

That's plain old rude! Why would the Japanese government do this!? Hello, but that's not fair to us - you're too much of a domestic protectionist government! (>_<)

Yeah, we're feeling the pain with, e.g., those blockades of Sony Music Japan on YouTube for foreigners.

Come on, this has got to change - we need more Japanese musicians (probably indies who aren't going to deal with "draconian" music labels) to showcase work online to the whole entire world!

^Agreed. What I do find most sad is there are a few Japanese artists I see that obviously want to open up to the rest of the world (ie. Ayu, Kuu, Namie, L'Arc~en~Ciel) & yet their own country is making a lot of that difficult on them.
