Nikkei's Concert Mobilization Power Ranking for 2015
Every year popular magazine Nikkei Entertainment releases a series of Power Rankings which arrange musical artists and other celebrities according to varying different criteria such as familiarity or interest. Keeping with tradition, the magazine’s December issue contains its yearly survey on concert attendance in Japan, ranking acts based on the overall amount of people whom attended their performances over the course of the past year.
The 2015 ranking was topped by long-running pop/rock band Mr.Children, whose “REFLECTION” Arena Tour and “Mikan” Stadium Tour brought in a combined 1,119,000 concertgoers (according to overall venue capacity) over the course of 36 different dates. Second and third place went to popular idol group Arashi (1,035,000 attendees from 21 dates) and dance/vocal unit Sandaime J Soul Brothers (1,002,000 attendees from 21 dates) respectively. Read on below for a look at the year’s complete Concert Mobilization ranking, which includes the Top 50 acts as ranked by their concert attendance during 2015. -’NIKKEI ENTERTAINMENT’ CONCERT MOBILIZATION POWER RANKING 2015-

Wow, amazing! Along with Namie and Fukuyama, the only solo artist in the top 20.

I'm surprised seeing 48 groups position tbh. (As well as the number of concerts)
Ayu is second best female performer under Namie, awesome!

This is great!
Pretty much all top 10 had at least some dome concerts this year if I'm not mistaken, and nearly all artists in top 20 are groups. It's great to see Ayu between them ![]() Really happy with Sandaime in #3 and EXILE in #4 as well ![]()

I wonder what kind of a shitstorm would occur if Koda Kumi was higher on the list than Ayu. Just sayin'. I'm not trying to start anything. This thought just popped up in my mind.

AKB does that small shows in their own theater in Akihabara.
The theater doesn´t have much seats but I think they do concerts nearly every day xD http://www.akb48.co.jp/theater/seat/

Ayu should be just below Namie once TA and CDL are done.

No, cause they're just counting together all concerts of the year 2015 for each artist - already done and just announced. Means for Ayu TA Tour and CDL are already in.

So the list is null and void, because Ayu could possibly just only 10 tickets for each CDL date. |

They're calculating the number of attendees with the full capacity of each venue the concerts take place in. It says nothing about, how it was received and how much tickets were actually sold. It's a summary of the yearly concerts of each artist in Japan. Nothing more.

Weird that they do this. They're calculating a full attendance per venue instead of tickets sold? Seems pointless...

^ Not really. They are considering the actual amount of concerts the artists did/are doing in the year with the proper audience for each venue. The thing that's not really accurate is that it considers the numbers as tickets were to be sold out for every date, which, of course, makes the numbers higher than they should, but imo it doesn't affect the ranking positions that much, unless some of those artists happened to have the venues half empty or something that drastic. (like cancelled concerts. Ayu's two cancelled dates on TA Tour were actually counted on this list)

^ I think that's what I said xD
I just think it's silly that they wouldn't just get the actual data for tickets sold. It's literally the same thing as if Oricon ranked singles only based on how many cd's were sent out to stores vs actual sales of the cd's. While the numbers might be relatively similar, it's not exact. So for a country that likes to rank things so much, I just think it's weird haha. Though I do remember that (miss)understood was considered a million selling album despite only selling 800,000+ so in some instances I guess they do base it on shipments vs sales. Anyway it's good to see she's still able to be in this list, and to be so high up if you ignore the groups haha.
