Talking The Official Marching Band/Concert Band Thread

Hey everyone! This were we talk about music we're playing in school college, etc. If you play any instrument and not in band thats fine too.

For thoughs of you in marching band, whats your music this year? Mines from the story West Side Story. Its kinda cool actually, but last year we played Pirates of the Caribbean and it was awesome.

What do you play?

I play trumpet.

Nyaha I don't know if this counts, but two years ago during freshman year I was in colorguard, which was part of marching band. I wonder if there are any others....interesting thread^^''

BTW, I quit because the teacher was a dictator, and the practices where tedious and 24/7 mostly

I was in marching band this past year. I won't be in it this year though because I wanted to take a Japanese class (I had no time in my schedule for band). I play clarinet^^

I play(ed) tuba. There was no marching band for me because the sousafone fell through my shoulders. I'm kinda small... I didn't play last year because of courseload, but my college has no tuba players. So... I'm hoping to get a new shiny tuba out of them.
It's almost like blackmale. I like it.

I was in concert band in middle school, but my high school only had a marching band, and I'm not into marching (sorry!).

However, I'm hoping to join my university's orchestra this year! I play flute. I used to be able to play the piccolo and could play oboe a little, but I haven't played those in a long time.

I played clarinet for 5 years and then switched to bassoon (big mistake). It was just concert band, no marching or funny uniforms... we played some good songs though. Does anyone know "Chaos to the birth of a dying star"? We played it at a competition in San Fransisco and got... well not first. Haha. But the trip was amazing.

OH MY GOD MY CLARINET IS NAMED VITO TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

[edit] except I sais mine was a girl! lol

We should set our clarinets up on a blind date... My Vito will show off her snazzy case, covered with fruit stickers off all kinds in hoped of impressing her Vito twin and getting him to like her.

I used to be in my middle school's marching band. My eighth grade year we took Grand Sweepstakes in everything. ^_^ Good memories. I can't do Marching Band anymore because IB takes up all my time... >,< I was a flag...because I play piano and that's not quite a Marching Band instrument! XD But yeah, Marching band!! Yay!

I'm still in high school and I play in the school concert band; senior, junior and jazz There is no marching band but it sounds really cooooooool! I play the alto, tenor and baritone saxophone. But I play with alto more because I've played it since grade 7 What's really weird is that I call my sax Vito too But only because it's made from a company or industry that makes instruments called Vito

omg! aweosme thread! I do colorguard... but not the color guard you think... ours are very competitive... We've done World Championships and everything... I've even made finals! more tha once

But now I am graduated... *sigh* and have to be in independent groups...

Anyone trying out for Drum Corps? It will be my last year for Phantom Regiment... and since 'The Sage' is the new instructor there, I shall try-out Anyone else trying out?

What about winterguard? I wanted to try out for Pride of Cincinnati so BAD this year, but it's too far a drive, when I move next year I will be closer to at least try-out!
