What do your friends/family think about Ayu??
What do your friends/family/etc. think about Ayu??
Do they like her? hate her? think she is okay? or don't even know about her? My dad thinks she sounds like a dying cat... although he thinks DAI are good... My friends.... *sighs* They don't really understand it... It's because its in a different language... i really give up, i don't what to say to get people to understand  ... This country is full of close-minded people... especially youth, and older people too!!when they imitate the music... they make it sound chinese instead of japanese... -__- poor ayu!

i hate it when my american friends "imitate" japanese music too....they never think that asian music is the same as american music, except in a different language....bah.. Some of my friends who like anime like her tho^^....we've got this lil Ayu fanclub thing goin on at school...haha My mom likes Ayu ballads, and my dad likes Ayu in general...so im glad^^.

as for me....
my mum and dad don't mind listening to her... they don't even give any sort of comment. Maybe they like ayu. My bros don't really care since they're jpop fans too... My sisters... well, let's just say, they're still on the fence. My cousins don't like ayu and won't even give a chance to really listen to her. My aunts, uncles and grandparents.... well, I don't really care what they think of ayu since they don't really care that much about what I'm interested in. They only like what's western.

My friends know i listen to her, they say she dosnet look good and they really dont care that I listen to her...
My mom actually likes her remixes cuz she likes that kinda music so  my grandma.. no comment  everyone else laugh heh. but then again my school is fullla people who stay inside their lil boxes and never do things for themselves, only do/listen to what everyone considers "in"... their loss lol

I'm HK Chinese, so listening to Japanese music is pretty common anyways...my parents don't have anything against Ayu, my lil' brother likes the Ayu songs from MA, and July 1st ^^

my bro only says mean things about her...
My mom admitted the other day that she thought ayu's really pretty. it kinda depends on her mood. If she's in a good mood sometime she doesn't mind ayu/ talk about her etc, but when she's in a bad mood she just says mean things... My dad hates all J-pop.

My friends don't get it. Or any Japanese music I listen to. They think I'm weird and ask how the hell I can understand it.
My parents think it's "great" I'm listening to all kinds of different music, but I can't help but feel they think it's odd.  Oh well, I like Ayu, so who cares?!

I hongkong chinese, moved to the netherlands.
friends know i listen ayu, most of htem don't have an opinion about it. One is converted by me. and one is the one who caught me into this. Brother is really annoying and never agrees with anything i do... parents don't care about it.

Oh yea, I got one of my cousin to become a fan. ^^ he also brought MA CD+DVD when we were in HK ^^ From what I know, his desktop atm is also Ayu =P

My friends like some Ayu songs, 'specially ANGEL'S SONG, Ourselves and Evolution.
My great aunt funnily enough (She's 82 'n all. =D) loves to listen to my J-Pop CDs and she absolutely loves Ayu's voice she thinks it's relaxing and beautiful her favourite songs are Dearest and SEASONS. My Dad doesn't mind Ayu he likes No way to say. He likes some BoA stuff and Koda Kumi too though. My Mum hates Ayu... v__v no comment on that one.

My mother doesn't know who Ayu is - but last week I was watching my Arena Tour 2002 VCD while she was out, she came home in the middle of Free & Easy and asked me who I was watching... I didn't tell her - just said that she wouldn't know who the singer was.
My brother has heard some Ayu stuff, but because he hasn't heard a lot, he's got this weird impression that she's bubblegum pop... He heard me playing Because Of You last week, but I never told him who it was. What's also weird is that he thinks ourselves sounds like that 'Kiss Kiss' song by Holly Valance - when they're both written in different countries. I don't understand how he thinks they're similar... My dad hasn't heard any of her songs - even though I order all my Ayu stuff through his credit card  He just asks me if I like the stuff when they arrive.

My mom & 2 sister like her and they said she is beautiful.
My Brother Seem not to care a lot. My DAd ~ He seem to hate her coz every time i listen to ayu remix he will go somewhere else.As for me , i m not very obsessed( is that how u spell it ) with her anymore.

speaking of cousins.......
Two of my cousins... being 8-9 year old brats that they are... don't really like ayu since they only like western artists. Heck, they even made a mockery out of one of Hikki's songs. >_< But I can understand them. They're not that mature enough.........haha like I'm any more mature...

In my situation, my grandma thinks she's a pretty good singer, though she doesn't like modern J-pop very much. Enka is her music all the way, so... She doesn't listen carefully to today's music or anything.
Mum thinks Ayu's really pretty and actually, I heard her humming "Depend on you" when she was vacuuming once O_O My dad doesn't like any Japanese music because he doesn't understand it. My friends... Some of them think Ayu is really cute. A lot of them don't like me listening to Japanese music in my car because they don't understand it and thus it annoys them. My sister really likes Ayu.
