Everyone already said Dir en Grey XD

Umm. I recently got into Antique Cafe/An Cafe. They're really great!
Some others they din't list yet.. Zwei is a female band, they're not as rock as the others, but it's good and also Asian Kung-fu Generation.

Laruku, Luna Sea, X-Japan are the 3 you can't really go wrong with.

Besides them you could also try B'z, Buck-Tick for some old-school rock. Dir en grey, Janne da arc and the likes would come under new-style I guess.

I never really classified Malice Mizer as rock though. In fact it'll be hard to classify them at all, since they did everything from gothic metal to French pop-esque. But they'd be my strongest recommendation.

I've always wanted to hear something by An Cafe. =^.^= Do you think you could post a dew of their songs, please?

AIKAWA NANASE!!!!!

she's simply AMAZING! And has been in the Jmusic scene for years!

And a HIGH HIGHHHH recommendation of ...

Do as Infinity!!!
They shall remain my favorite band until the end of time... even though they're disbanded

(And also, as Akurei said, the NANA starring MIKA NAKASHIMA album. It's GOLD...)

Thanks guys, but could you all also suggest some amazing songs by these people? I have a huge list of j-rockers but I have NO IDEA where to start since I don't know their best songs to try out. ^^

Wow- many people jumped on this thread ^_^!

Recommending:

Kaggra,: anything and everything

Gazette: RUDER, Miseinen, Wakaremichi

Dir en Grey: The Final, CAGE, FILTH

Nightmare: anything!

D: the entire "The Name of the Rose" album if you can find it~

Well--- I would name more but meh. From the suggestions people have given, it's a lot of soft easy going stuff. It's not good to try and get someone into Jrock with purely hard stuff ((oh Girugamesh how I love theeeee!))

my absolute favorites are L'Arc~en~Ciel above all the others
try: LOVE FLIES, Hoshizora, STAY AWAY (I recommend this PV as well ), Lover Boy.

with these songs you should have a nice foretaste as to what to expect from L'Arc~
and if you're into these twisted 9th and 7th chords like me than you're going to love Ken's guitar parts

Dir en grey is awesome as well, but needs some getting used to for some ppl.^^'
I would begin with their older stuff and then continue with their more recent work

for female singers I would definitely recommend Shiina Ringo
try: tsumi to batsu, gibbs, Akane Sasu Kiro Terasaredo..., yamini furu ame, yattsuke shigoto
she's got also quite some cool PVs
