Questions about ayumi..

Hi!! I'm one of ayu's fans.. I just want to ask some few questions about her. Please reply very soon...thank you very much...

1. Did Ayu finish her studies?
2. While i'm looking to ayu's cds sales form wikipedia, it seems that her sales are decreasing. Is there any possibilities that she will lose her thrown?
3. How many are there in their family?
4. When will be the day that Ayu's cds will be for sale her in the philippines...

If you look good enough; you'll probably find a few ayu CDs there... and as for the sales.. Ayu used to be a gigantic hype.. selling million... Now she sells a bit less, but it still at the top easily.. actually, BETTER than before. Before singles that sold 700k didn't even get #1, now (because of the economy, downloads etc yada yada yada) 120k seems to be enough.. so it's just a matter of how you look at it I guess..

To #2, all sales are going down, probably world wide because of the growth of downloads instead of buying. They don't count legal downloads in Japan (yet!) but hopefully they will one day.
Ayumi is still top!

1. No, she dropped out of school to pursue her career.
2. Yes, it's decreasing. Not a big deal.
3. Mom, grand-ma and Ayu. And a father who left them.

To #2, all sales are going down, probably world wide because of the growth of downloads instead of buying. They don't count legal downloads in Japan (yet!) but hopefully they will one day.
Ayumi is still top!

To #3, ayu's grandmother died when ayu was recording her first single with avex. So now it's just ayu and her mother, who runs a shop with little decorative things.

It's not only in sales. The fact her albums were always the second best-selling albums of the year and with her last 2 albums she suddenly wasn't Top 5 anymore. Plus, her singles were always one of the 10 best-selling of the year, now her singles aren't on the Top 10 anymore, only on the lower half of the Top 20. You can't compare her popularity with sales from the early 2000s and now because, as you said, sales decreased a lot, so you have to use annual rankings and such to compare.

With singles+albums she's still the best-selling female artist, but Koda Kumi outsold My Story with her Best ~First Things~ and will probably outsell (miss)understood with her Best ~Second Sessions~ (but that's just a guess).

That doesn't mean she's not popular anymore tough... her popularity is decreasing, but we can still like her

r u talking about B&D single? cos it was barely enough to keep #1, same goes for HEAVEN. it all depends on who's releasing. if there were stronger releases that week, she would have been at #2. n also, the economy is improving, its better than it was like 5yrs ago

Ayu usually sell over 120k in her first week, that's more than the average first week number. Some big artists sell over 200k (Shuuji to Akira was a exception, singles don't sell like that anymore) but only very few.

this statement was at the back of my (miss) understood.. probably the overseas version... so i think it's available in the Philippines!

ANd some singles sell less than 40k and still become number one. It's a matter of who's releasing that week (f.ex DEF.DIVA, the number one hit that wont even appear in the yearly top 100

)

For question 1, I thought she dropped out of school for modelling and when she got to tokyo she finished high school. Maybe I was wrong all along. =)

Ok...what ayumi needs to do...pull a Utada and not release a single until like november. Hehehehehe...that'll give us time to appreciate the music more instead of mass singles and albums.

I hope so...Right now, I can't buy Ayu's cds online coz I dont have credit cards and besides I'm just 17. But one day, I can have all Ayu's cds...I love You, AYU!!!MWahhh.

I agree. It would also give people time to buy all the Ayu stuff they did for their 'collection'.

1. No, base on her profile in her website i think she didn't finish
2. I think the whole jpop industry has decreasing their sales, ayu has lose her popularity little by little but her sales is still an awesome thing, look utada, Mai K, Ami Suzuki, ayu is still in the TOP.

4. i don't know how popular japanese music in there, but here in indonesia there is a local original ayumi album
