Hm... I'd say for the same reason all her titles are in English... style?
I dont know, I'm just guessing. P.S. Does Sotsugyou shashin fall under this category too or is it in kana?

Ayu titles are in English for a commercial reason, so people outside Japan can remember the titles. HANABI and Kanariya are japanese words but they're romanized for commercial reasons, plus they sound good and are easy to remember, too.

i always thought ayu's titles were more of a stylistic thing since she always said she never really cared about success outside of japan. she's said she doesn't particularly want to pursue a career outside of asia at all.
and yes, kanariya is canary. the official word is "kanaria" but alot of people (esp music artists) write it as kanariya (in katakana usually).

Well, every other song title has been english... maybe she didn't want kanariya and hanabi to be odd ones out.
However I heard that the song would lose meaning if it was translated into english (fireworks) or kept in Japanese characters. That hanabi rather was a word that was something beautiful for a very short time, but died almost instantly. Not the literal 'fireworks' which kinda of give off the feeling of joy instead. |

Yeah, kanariya and HANABI sound so much better for a song than "Canary" or "Fireworks". They sound like horrible rumor titles...
