Curiosity details about Born To Be... PV

Today when I was watching Mika Nakashima's "BEST" DVD I've noticed something interesting. Idea on Born To Be... from the beginning seems for me familiar but I wasn't sure where I saw those choreography from PV before. After watched Mika's PVs - I remember

Most of elements from AYU's Born To Be... PV is very similar to PV FIND THE WAY of Mika Nakashima. Please don't think I'm posting it because I want to slander AYU that she's copying another stuff or something. I think this all similarity is accidental - I just want to share my awareness as curious detail.

Born To Be... is on the left side and FIND THE WAY on the right.

The similarities were noticed when the preview came out a few weeks ago. Born to Be... probably has a similar 'idea' of FIND THE WAY.. despite the major lyrical differences, the lights are like.. symbols~ :p

wow same concept i guess... without the watery effect and mika's MV is very mcuh better cos it's not blinding.. it's not too bright! ^___^

I like Mika's PV better because I don't have to wear sunglasses, but not really sure. Are they executed the same way? because it is very easy to compare two videos with just screenshots.

Sorry if something like this was posted already but I wasn't at the board for some time. Surely I'm not the only one who noticed those similarities.

Personally I like Mika's PV more because is more various (2nd part is in different climat with beautiful scenery). AYU's PV is monotonous and those yellow garish glaring lights irritate me - it's hard to saw AYU clearly (only some yellow contures r visable).

Yeah, I know but I wanna only show similarities. I made some screencaps from both PVs and then compare them. Most of them is take in the same order but some of them r various - just to show places where similarity can be visable.

I noticed this before the PV aired and I expected a thread like this.
Mika's PV is better, of course. The brightness behind her is rational and it compliments the song pretty well. The lights in this PV embody hope, obviously. At least FIND THE WAY contains shifting scenes rather than having Mika singing on the roof for the entire duration of the PV.
Haha, seems like everyone's getting inspired from Mika's PVs these days. First, there's a Korean group called TAKE(Seppun vs Butterfly Grave), then BoA(SEVEN vs. Dakishimeru), thirdly Jolin Tsai(SEVEN vs. Jun Jun Yu Dong).

I wonder if Ayu knew about this or if it was purely coincidental?
Mika's song is a very slow ballad, so it wouldn't make sense to have flashing lights like Ayu did either. I didn't mind Ayu's PV that much; i actually kinda liked the bright lights.

Mika's is definitely less seizure inducing...

This concept is kind of generic actually...I'm sure there have been other stars who have had similar PVs like this and it's all coincidental.

I'd be curious to know who the directors of all these PVs are, if someone has that info. Born To Be... and FIND A WAY too.

i think born to be has more powerful light and scene..
ayu use so MANY lamp..i believe she feel so HOT when shoot it

I'm sure its just a coincidence, both songs give off entirely different feels. Besides, Ayu's has that..half naked guy in hers, haha.

Sorry, but I fret very easily when people get Mika's titles wrong.
Haha, the Korean group(the girl in that PV is just a model they hired) received permission from Mika's record company(or producer/director) and so technically, it's not "illegal."

I don't know about Born to Be..., but I know that FIND THE WAY is directed by Masashi Muto. I'd be curious to know about Jolin's .

Really!? There's a good chance it was him who directed Born to be... then. Because he directed several recent PVs for ayu:

I think that his style of PVs require small amounts of movement and subtle details, you know?

I think FIND THE WAY and Born to Be are only similar in that aspect.. :\ Plus Ayu's wall is much much larger xD

I first remember that yellow light background from Linkin Park's "Faint" a few years back, actually. Don't know where the whole idea originated from, but it seems like it wouldn't be so hard to come up with.

Mika's one is not so bright when compared to Ayu's one. (Ayu's one was like 'flooded' with bright yellow light!!) I think i prefer mika's one
