Recently I've really taken a liking to Corinne Bailey Rae. Her music is wonnnnnnnderful to chill out to. She's like contemporary jazz-pop, happy, but relaxed and soothing. I suggest "Put Your Records On" and "Like A Star".

Jack Johnson is very acoustic, sometimes a bit folk-y, and has some very chilled-out songs. I suggest "Banana Pancakes" and "Upside Down".

Deathcab For Cutie has some soothing songs, too. They are sort of pop-rock-digicoustic, not jazzy or lounge-y at all, but they have a similar effect. Their newer song, "Soul Meets Body" is nice. This is good driving music in the summertime.

Imogen Heap is another with really ethereal, soothing digi-pop music. Not quite jazzy, but her music relaxes me and puts me in a really happy, dreamy mood. I suggest "Speeding Cars", "Hide and Seek", and "Goodnight and Go".

The Cranberries were very coffee-house-y too. A lot of nice mellow rock from the early-mid 90s was. "Linger", "Dreams", "Ode to My Family". They are slightly depressing, but really beautiful and calming.

Emma Bunton's album "Free Me" was very loungey and jazzy. It is soothing. This is the kind of music I would like to play as I make dinner.

Definitely Corinne Bailey Rae, though. She's great.

I'd recommend these too although I'm not exactly sure what you want. Do you mean the kind if music they play in elevators and malls and hotel receptions? Cos I'm looking for that kind of music.

EDIT: OMG, WIKI IS GOD. Elevator music is the kind of stuff they play on The Sims, it's called muzak.

Elevator music, also known as piped music or Muzak, refers to the gentle, bland instrumental arrangements of popular music designed for play in shopping malls, grocery stores, telephone systems (while the caller is on hold), cruise ships, airports, and elevators.
Ok, I'm pretty sure you aren't.

thanks evolusean & Vinylfantasy.

evolusean, I appreciate your uploads so much. ;D Some of them don't really fit with lounge music that I'm looking for, but they're very enjoyable.
It seems that most of your pics are acoustic music, am I right? Actually I'm looking for lounge music that is somewhat techno/electronic-influenced.
Do you have recommendations for that?

and Vinylfantasy, thanks a lot again for the uploads.
I enjoy Kobayashi's works very much and if you have his other works, I'd appreaciate if you're willing to share with us.

If you guys still confused, check this out. Wait until the music loads and you can see what I mean with "lounge music with few electronic touch"

Hmmm... Sorry, I was confused. Lounge music is traditionally acoustic.

After listening to the music on that website, you are thinking of Muzak (elevator music), for sure. It is instrumental jazz/bossa nova type music, with some warm pads thrown in there. Lounge music is actually more like a sound between big-band standards (Frank Sinatra) to true jazz (Billie Holiday, etc.).

I have no idea where to get Muzak, though... it's kind of not well-appreciated here, at least. It's often the butt end of music jokes. Hahaha. Good luck in your search.

So it's really Muzak? Waa,, thanks for confirming that, since I've never heard muzak. XD
And thanks for confirming about the lounge music. I always thought that kind of music is lounge-ish type, no wonder I've been getting lots of traditional-kind of music when I look for lounge music torrent.
