why is who... the concert ending song?!?!

even who...'s inst. is soothing and good ending quality. (Maybe I'm just biased, cause its like my favorite ballad ) But I think its great for ending a concert or tour. In Preformance and in credits. Its like: I'm sad that its over, but I'll see ya next year!
Its probably really familiar quirk, or maybe Ayu has a soft spot for that song, or maybe Avex threatened her with a banana and said that if she didn't use it, she'd be transmuted into a monkey.

It's probably because it's a good ending song. And maybe because it means a lot to her? Some people say that "Who..." is dedicated to her grandmother who always believed in her and died at the recording of Ayu's very first song. I don't really know. Nobody will ever know.

In short, I personally think Who is always her ending song coz it's her greatest =)

and probably her personal favourite anyway.


The idea behind the song is truly amazing ... At no stage does she say things like "thank you"..... it is completely implied by her description of the person she is dedicating the song to.

I actually always wondered who the song was referring to.... I always thought it was to her mum ... (but certainly, grandmother is equally likely)

I reckon the first chorus represents her time when she left for Tokyo. It's interesting because it's referring to the memory of her past.

"I remember

On the night we spent apart
The moon was far away and I was crying."


The other thing to note, is that the 2 (and 3rd) chorus, when translated to English is:

"I pray that this singing voice
will reach you...
I pray that this singing voice
will reach you..."

But that the two sentences do not mean exactly the same in Japanese (Perhaps a native Japanese speaker can clarify this) - I heard it's something to do with the formal/informal wording of the sentences.

- In any case, I think the original meaning of the song is now "lost", being replaced by the plural of "you" in her concerts...

ie: It's like when an actor wins an Oscar and thanks everyone who has helped him/her in the past... .This is why I think Who is always her last song.

That's right, it means the same thing, but the formal wording fits the rhythm of the first phrase while the informal one fits the rhythm of the second phrase.
