When the forum slows down there's sometimes a kind of post that you makes that is there, but it doesn't show up as a new post. If you view the thread from the outside it wont say that the post is there as the latest post, but if you go inside, there it is.

I have made quite a number of those posts during when AHS is quite slow, I believe I shouldn't be posting at those moments but I've done so anyway.

This morning there was a slowdown, and I made one of those posts. When they post, they don't add to your post count, but if deleted they subtract from it. As the thread didn't display that there was a new post in it I decided to delete my post and post it again. As the forum didn't want to load I clicked the delete button several times, when the board loaded again, after several tries, my post count had dropped from 10,058 to 10,033.

This has happened several times before, I never thought about it and I never felt sure enough about what was causing the drops. Now that I am sure I thought you should know.

And no, it is not posts being moved to trash or the posting games board. I figured now that I should have been taking screenshots of my experimenting.

There's also another kind of bugged post that doesn't only happen when the board is slow, it happens now and then. These posts will on the other hand show up from the outside, as a new post. The thread lights up and it says the name of the last poster, when you go inside the thread the post is not there. The way to get those posts to show up is to make a new post, and then immediately delete it. Then the earlier post will magically appear. I'm not sure if these posts count towards your post count or not, they happen much more rarely so I didn't have the chance to experiment with them.

I might be completely off, but I've been thinking about those posts and if it can be effecting the performance of AHS, I imagine that posts not working as they should can be quite performance heavy, now I don't have any statistics to look at or anything so I am but guessing.

There's also been things going on with making threads. Usually when a thread fails to be posted there's nothing more to it, but two days ago I made one thread that failed, after that I was unable to make new threads for around 48 hours, while others was fully capable of making them.

A number of those posts popped up right now, when the board started slowing down again, and then it got really bad.

I don't know if they might be effecting anything, it just has me think back of when I hosted a game server and bugged characters caused similar problems... like I said I'm just guessing, if I don't get answers or am told off I'll keep on guessing and giving what information I can.

I'd have to say I don't understand what you mean, probably because that situation has never happened to me. I only can say that I hope you guys are getting the forum back and running to perfection again, and I wish you all the best. Some posts I tried to make today didn't post at all, and when I try to post them, it just goes to a blank page o.O. Sometimes the forum won't even show up, and just go to a blank page.

This reminds me of what happened to AHO. They had really bad server problems. Maybe you can ask them about how they dealt with it.

^^many things are happening, for example, there was a time, and many times for martin, earlier when, you would click the button once, yet, it would double or even triple post, then you go back and delete those posts and you lose posts.

I can only assume that these problems have to do with the server, and measures are being taken to fix it. All we can do is wait.

Indeed, the post count increases by anything from 0-1, yet 2-4 posts show up, and when you delete them, your post count drops.

I dropped from BTB initiate down to Startin' for a short while thanks to a few of them posts .

I do not care, that's why I've been experimenting with it rather than avoiding it, dropping my post count some. Probably a hundred or something now, I didn't count. The only reason I'm presenting this is because I think it might effect the performance of the board, thinking of the recent slowdowns.

I just made one of the double posts that only counts as one post again, and the board had a small slow down, but it seems to be okay now again. I wonder if it's the slowdowns causing the weird things to happen with the posts, or if the post might have an effect?

I noticed this. I posted at Jolin Tsai thread below Demure_Dusk, but when I go back to 'Artists & Bands' page, the last poster informations showed this "Today 01:49 PM
by Demure_Dusk Go to last post" instead of "by ChrisKay", but when I go back to the thread, my post is still there, right below Demure_Dusk.

I'm not complaining, but informing. Perhaps this information will be useful for future references.

I'm noticing this all the time now, and I made 4 or 5 posts this morning which doesn't show up from the outside, nor did they add to my post count (yes, pure technical fact).

I wonder, would it be possible to have a negative post count? Maybe I should make a new account and make a post that doesn't count, and then hit the delete button on it more than once. I used that method to delete over a hundred posts from my current post count. It's easy to figure from the boards behavior when you can do it.

LMAO

That worth a try immel. It would be very interesting (yet surprising to see someone with a minus post count).

Although I would advice you not to, considering we're in the middle of server problems. I'm afraid that could affect the server. We don't know just yet what kind of mishaps may happen.

Just remembered that I had another weird thing happening yesterday.

I made a post right when the boards slowed down, it quadruple posted itself on me and did not add to the post count. I deleted the 3 extra posts, but for each of them I deleted my post count dropped by 2. It seems like the same phenomenon as the double posting, but in reverse.

THis happens to me all the time too, actually in periods, it happens when I post more often than not. Which is getting really annoying.

The first time I noticed the "phenomenon" was actually from posts that you made, I've seen threads light up with your name as the new poster but no new post in them so many times.

You've been making those kinds of posts since long before the problems started, which I think is weird, because your account was like the only one making them back then. Now it happens all the time, to everyone.

EDIT:
Noticed that since yesterday it seems the problems with posts not counting is solved, thanks for all your incredible work *insert name(s) here*. Some slight slowdowns had me and others make a few double posts today, in which both posts added to the post count.

I had some troubles with the kind of posts that does not bump the threads and there's still a few posts of the kind that only shows up from the outside, but from what I noticed they now seem to add to the post count.

Would it be possible to re-calculate your post count? I don't care if it's changed or not, I want to know how many posts I and other users who have had the same troubles actually have.

It's still happening, not as often as before but that's probably because the slowdowns are shorter.

More often than not the posts count, though, it seems.

Since a few days I also started to get the message "This post is a duplicate of a post you've made within the last 5 minutes" sometimes, when trying to post them for the first time, sometimes they appear sometimes they don't.
