Thoughts on the song Secret

If you didn't see it yet, the mp3 of the song Secret is up in the downloads section.

I like it a lot, I was slightly, only slightly, disappointed by the preview but the full version makes up for that. The chorus is a bit generic to me, but that's up to everyones own taste, it's nice. It's a lovely and soothing ballad, will probably make it to a concert ending song some day

It's beautiful! I really like the song. Though I was slightly disappointed that it didn't have a really impactful bridge such as that present in CAROLS. It was only an instrumental bridge in Secret. Nonetheless, really beautiful song. I appreciate the slight oriental feel of the song. Great ballad! But a bit repetitive when it finally gets to the end of the song.

i was hoping for a bridge !! but it only has a musical bridge, i'm slightly dissapointed !!!! well anyway !!!!!!!

Simply beautiful. Makes me feel very sad and nostalgic for some reason... I cannot describe it with any other words. It's as if I had heard this before but then again... it's some whole another style Ayu has never sang before. So extremely sad.

The music was really nicely arranged! The feeling reminds me off FFX XDD But not really..haha...But anyways. The full version was a beautiful track. The preview really didn't give me too much. I think it was the lyrics that really made this track worth it. I think that's one of the reasons I'm stuck with it.

really nice arrangement, I say this is my most favorite ballad...topping
Moments/No way to say/walking proud/Dearest...
most of them sounds alike except for this

I get "duty" feeling from it for some reason. I think the arrangements are wonderful, but the melody is not that interesting. Overall it's an ok ballad, but it fails to stand out as her best, but it's a decent title track and brings a nice end to the album.

I may be a bit "biased" though, cause mostly when ayu's albums have a lot of upbeat tracks they tend to grasp my attention a lot easier and quicker than ballads (except ones like JEWEL and HEAVEN).

Her voice emulates sadness all over and the chorus contributes a lot to the sadness too.

It sounds very traditional. Very soothing and calm. I can listen to this while I'm taking a bath

I love how she softly sings this song, as opposed to her usual self. :tongue

Other than that..it's nice. Not very memorable though.

Agreed. This is the first time her voice really made me melt inside. The 'imasu-ka' part in the chorus just gets me. It really shows the beauty of the Japanese language. Amazing song.

I think it's too sad to be made into a concert ending song! Bwhaha, I'll probably tear! But I don't mind! I prefer winding road though, it's more optimistic sounding. Secret is just REALLY SAD! All the more when it reaches the end of the album.

Hm.. I don't really like it, it's a boring ballad to me, I think it could've been alot better, I would've liked something like HEAVEN for this one.

The preview was a little blant to me, but after hearing the entire track and acknowledging the lyrics (and also comparing her vocal to the chinese version, to which I am not too fond of, lol) I actually enjoy the song quite a lot. I don't think this will be in the ecore or the final song of her future concerts like someone was saying, just because she tends plays at least two of her hit ballad during the middle of her concert, specially with the track secret, which is going to be the theme of her next concert.
