Question about A BEST

I have a question about A BEST, it's been bugging me recently...

The cover of A BEST has Ayu crying on it. Originally (about 6 months ago), I had heard that around that time (of A BEST), she and Utada were releasing an album around the same time, and a rivalry flared up between their fans. It got to the point where Ayu was telling people that she never wanted to compete with Hikki in the first place and so she put a picture of herself crying on her CD to show her turmoil.

Now a few days ago I heard that she was crying on the CD cover because of the "A BEST" scandal. Now, I have no idea what the heck this is- so if someone could elaborate, I would appreciate it.

But anyway- I'm as confused and running around in circles like a banana smoothie. I don't know which one to believe and which one NOT to.

I think the tear is because she didn´t want to release A Best, but avex begged her to.

in masa's homepage it is an interview of Ayu reffering this issue. This was explained by Ayu herself. (I don't know masa's page exacly)

angel-ayu is right, but i find this issue strange, as... how did they accepted their OWN artist appeared in such a way? - usin the cover as a sign of sorrow?

Because the only thing they want is money... they don´t care much abouit anything else I fear...

^I think you're right. Sadly. avex didn't even bother to cancel ayus tour when she had ear problems and an injured leg...

ayu felt like a product during the time of "A BEST". And she had negative feelings concerning it and so the covers for "A BEST", the CMs and most of her PVs from the "I am..." era are her silent protest against it. (Against being manufactured and the like.) ayu couldn't have said directly that she didn't want to release it before the actual release. (masa wrote in his article that ayu said so after the release.)

Woah, that Avex sux. I always thot success (whether success or not!) in any business begins with treating n caring the welfare of ur staff and not merely treating them as products and only being concerned about sales n figures.

Sounds like one jacked-up company run by robots.

I thought the leg injury happened before the final concert and it was Ayumi's own decision to push the start time back a few hours.

The leg injury occurred before the first concert, I think.

The tour hadn't started yet and her ear problem affected the rehearsals.. [she then fell a few hours before the concert.]

Before anyone simply blames avex for everything, it should be remembered that Ayu was the one who wanted to perform during DOME TOUR with her injured leg and ear condition when the doctors told her not to.. :\

I'm sorry and apologise if I wrongly accuse Avex as a bad company coz I'm reacting quickly from what I read (which is not right I know, sometimes it just triggers off fast).

Most importantly, I hope Ayu's in good care always =) (I can only hope since I am in no position nor have the power to assure that, haha)

Public Stunt.

By making the "poor innocent ayu is being forced by the evil company to release it against her will" image would work to make the naive fans SO touched and the smarter fans (who would think a BEST album shouldn't be released at such a time) relieved, thinking that she actually didn't want to release it at such a time, so soon.
Her dogs surely had a feast on the ammount of money she earned from that album sales and her wardrobe surely was never as shinier and happier as back then. Crocodile tears I dare say!

I didnt do any read-ups regarding the cover of A-Best when I 1st bought. Oni read abt it recently like weeks ago. I always thot itz purely design, nothing more, haha.

But I actually doubt they would have let ayu not hold the tour, because it would have been canceled just at the start of the tour. It's quite irresponsible that they had let her hold the concert...

^ actually, it was Ayu's will to hold the concert. ill, just after the fall she had had the previous dy at the rehersal, she returned
nobody expected it and Avex decided to take away the tickets and return the money
at that day it was announced there would be no concert, but ppl didn't go away.

the main point was that AYUMI WAS GOING TO RETIRE AFTER A BEST relase

thus explains a BOOM of magazine appearances and compo between her and Hikki
so, don't you understand why there was a tear?

so... why was she going to retire?
