国際的なクエスチョンです!What song cheers you?

国際的なクエスチョンです!

I watched a special on NHK a few weeks ago on this matter. They were discussing songs that cheered people up and made them feel "empowered" with the strength to go on in their life. So, this is a question spanning any music! What song cheers you up or makes you feel powerful?

Ayu said on MUSIC STATION that she liked two songs from SOUTHERN ALL STARS and the classic "survival dAnce~no no cry more~" from TRF when she was feelin' blue. So, everyone, what's your special song? Give me up to three. Doesn't matter what country they come from, whether they were simply theme songs from a drama or television show, or whatever. They can be without lyrics or whatever type of music you like.

I would have to say mine are as follows:

1. July 1st - Hamasaki Ayumi

This song has a great message. I couldn't express joy in any better words than this song. I feel so happy when I listen to it and the story in the song makes me feel like life is great. "Even if tomorrow, rain falls, I will go to you and give this song to you." What a great line. ^^

2. BREAK OUT EMOTION - Chinen Rina

This song is a love song, but it really reminds me of the time I spent in Yokohama, the days of which were some of the best in my life. It's a very sentimental song to me. It cheers me very much to listen to Chinen-chan singing this song. I really like the English lyrics, too. ^^ The pop melody strikes me as very Japanese-sounding. I like the song a lot.

3. GRACEFUL WORLD - Every Little Thing

With lyrics penned by Mochida Kaori, this song really speaks to me. They aren't 100% cheerful lyrics, but either are the lyrics in the other two songs I chose. This song talks about "the wounded ones" and how they continue on though those wounds don't heal. They try to coexist under the same limitless blue sky on this blue world called "Earth." I like the English... FULFILL MY DREAMS...FULFILL YOUR DREAMS... I have to say that the upbeat melody really helps me get energized for this song. Though some of the lyrics are heavy, the melody is like a torrent in my soul.

So, tag, you're it. Tell me about the songs that cheer you up and WHY they cheer you up. Is it the lyrics? The melody? The lightheartedness? Do they make you appreciate someone you love or lost?

Hmm........ well I could name a bunch of Ayumi songs easily. But outside of her,

Summer Song - Joe Satriani
Really good song, happy sounding and upbeat. Unfortunately, if you don't like the guitar/non-lyriced/rock songs you probably won't like it

Endless Sacrfice - Dream Theater
This song is really powerful. Again, if you don't like rock you probably won't like it. But yeah, powerful stuff.

My current ones:

+ Tsuyoi Hakanai Monotachi - Cocco ("The strong and ephemeral [fleeting] ones")

It's a sad song, but I just love the riffs she has in it. And the lyric about "but when you pass through the arch of flying fish" gives me goosebumps. Her lyrics are exceedingly dreamy.

+ Free & Easy - Hamasaki Ayumi

This song was one of the most inferior tunes by Ayu, I used to think. I honestly thought it was just one of those transition pieces that mixes her styles. It was sort of like a reject from "I am..." in my eyes. But when I started really listening to the lyrics and listening to the way she sang--especially LIVE--I fell in love with this song. I cannot get enough of listening to it as of late.

+ Daybreak (H/\L's Mix+Original)

I get two different feelings from these songs, because of the arrangements. The first one is dreamy and sweetly sad. Ayu longingly says, "Don't forget that there are those who love you." In the original mix, it's more about affirmation. Confirmation. "You DON'T have to worry." The same lyrics, yes. But I feel the inflection is different. It's strange how the arrangement created two songs. It really did.

the songs that make me feel better are:
1. Couldn't care less --Crystal Kay
2. he'll be mine--crystal kay
just because i like the way songs sound and she's mainly just talking about how either she doesnt care and will momve on or how they guy will be hers no matter what.
3. wishing on the same star-namie
4. i will-namie
5. four seasons-namie
6. i have never seen-namie
7. dreaming i was dreaming-namie
these songs all make me feel better because they are about love and wishing about that person you want to be with, i guess hopeless love songs make me feel better and th namie's and hikki's voices make me feel better about everything, when i am down or blue.
some other songs are:
8. final distance-hikki
9. traveling-hikki
10. wait and see~risuku-hikki
11. automatic-hikki
12. real me-ayu
13. never ever-ayu
and pretty much all of ayu's faster songs like, angel's song, greatful days, oursevles, audicene and etc. just becaue those put me a good mood.

Hmmm lesse for now:

evolution:
First, there's the super-upbeat music and the "WOW-YEAH". That really kicks me up. Then there's the lyrics. To put it blunt, it sorta says crap happens in life but we still live through it. That makes be believe that it's better to live life happily whatever happens.

Errr... I think thats if for now, heh, can't think of any other that 'empowers' me.
