Do you like Engrish???

Do you like when Asian singers sing in Engrish/poor english??

I enjoy it, I think it sounds pretty cool...

BoA and DAI sing good engrish! so does Ayu, I don't really think her english is that bad...

but who sings the best engrish??

No way! It's one thing if they can't pronounce it right, but if the sentence just doesn't make sense.. then It totally turns me off to the song. I feel, if singers are going to sing in a another language, they should do it right or not do it at all.

Ayu or BoA have the best engrish, although BoA's better at it than Ayu. As for whether I like it or not, I guess it'd depend on the artist. BoA can pull it off better than Ayu, IMO, so it's not really that bad if I hear an english song by her. As for Ayu, well... I know I've said this before, but I think she sounds hundreds of times better in Japanese than English

I like www.engrish.com ! ^_^

As for singing, I dun mind it but dun understand why they want to stick English lines in their songs. I think that hearing Ayu speak English is outright adorable, though.

that really depends, i mean, some of BoA's and Namie's engrish is real cool, but Ayu's sucks.

No...and only Namie sounds good and understandable most of the time o_O' if we're speaking of people who can't say it properly. (BoA doesn't count as fluent o_O)

Yeah, I think it depends on the phrase and who does it. Engrish can be so cute sometimes. ^_^;

I like it for some reason. The only exception is BoA, especially her all-english songs. They're painfully bad. ><;;;

For me, I think Engrish is ok. So far BoA has shown the best performance IMO for Engrish, but if she works a bit more on the pronounciation, then she'll be singing English.

Ayu can be just as good, but it's gonna take a while. And as Unimatrix Prime said, I also think Ayu sings a hundred times better in Japanese than Engrish.

BoA's Engrish is very hard to understand sometimes. I've even seen mulitple versions of lyrics for her Engrish song recordings. This tells you that no one really knows what she's singing for sure.

About 40 years before,it is thought that Japanese singing pop music in Japanese language is not cool since pop music, rock was made with English language.
Many rock'lyrics was written in English.

So Japanese artists discussed if they can sing pop music in Japanese.
1only japanse lyrics
eiichi ohtaki in 1970.Still popular style.

2sing japanese lyrics with English style
Keisuke Kuwata was BIG impact.
Mr.children is the successor.

3mix Japanese and Engrish in the lyrics.
tons of artists

4smooth Japanse and English
Hikaru Utada and more

5only Engrish or English
Mainly,hard rock band

I don't like meaningless Engrish.
At least, they should use meaningful Engrish.

Hey, you don't see American singers going off into Chinese or Japanese or Korean or whatever.
So if you ask me, stop the Engrish, please. I doubt the singers even know what they're singing.
It's one of those things were people tell them how to pronounce it, and they just say it dumbly without knowing what the heck they're saying.

I like engrish. I get to understand some of the music Utada has the best engrish songs I've heard. DAI is second. I think DAI did one song all engrish.

Nope everyone is talking about the same BoA and well she does use engrish ahaha Or are you able to say "SHINE WE ARE!" is a normal english phrase? I can't even know what the heck means "being shine"

"Hi people I am shine today. We are Shine! Shine we are!" ahhahaha That's so weird for a title!

I think if english is to be used, it shouldn't have to be used right... I mean, unless we can understand Japanese we have no clue what they are saying either... Hell, they could probably be talking about something that makes no sense...

And I don't think Namie is better than BoA at engrish... I think they are at the same level... Namie's can be bad sometimes too...

DAI did 2 songs completely in Engrish I believe... "Summer Days", and "Break Of Dawn"
