Yeah, 2005 was a great year for Japanese music.

I remember the time when Moi dix Mois released their tour DVD on 27th July of that year, that was my highlight of the year, as well as Ayu's STEP you/is this LOVE?

My first japanese song was MALICE MIZER's Syunikiss, <3 Which then started off my 'obsession' with them.

I thought I was the only one missing 2005. It truly had a lot of hits, amazing newcomers, and unexpected breakthroughs. The best J-Pop year IMO was 2001 or 1998. I wish I would have been around in those years.

I started listening to Japanese music in 2003. My J-Pop year rank (only years I "experienced"):

1. 2005
2. 2003
3. 2004
4. 2006
5. 2007

2007 is uninteresting so far. 2006 was boring as well.

I must agree about 2007 it's very dull. 2003 wasn't that bad either but I think 2005 was best.

Fav song of the year is :
GLAY X EXILE - SCREAM

alterna!!!!!! That video is AWESOME! Yes, 2005 was an amazing year for japanese music. I also think that 2006 and so far, 2007, are very dull. I am not listening great songs, just mediocre or merely acceptable, and it's a shame, cause even my favorites are doing boring stuff or not doing anything at all.
