Does Ayu look different to you these days...?

I can't quite wrap my hand around it. Her face looks...different. Does anyone else notice this when watching her TV lives from 2008? With utmost respect, did she put on a little weight or is her skin sagging? I don't mean to offend anyone and please understand that it is not the intention of this post to start some big argument (so please, no scathing comments directed at me). I'm just wondering if anyone else notices anything. Obviously she's gotten older. I'm asking myself...can age really change someone's face within the span of a year? I saw bags under her eyes...that was probably due to her hectic schedule back in December. I think she was a lot thinner before this year. The cheek bones...I think that's what I'm noticing. I might post pics later to try and illustrate what I'm saying...although this really isn't such a big deal I guess.

^ the only time i remember that ayu putting on weight was during june... her last concert of AT08 was a shock. ayu had to alter her costume for Depend on You such that she covers her belly. (well it could be due to other reasons though). The original costume had ayu exposing her abs.

and from the TV version of AT08, she does look quite fat in some angle. i had a screenshot for that but i deleted it away.

other than that period, ayu looks normal. From a-nation 08 - currently, she looks thin!

Ah that's shocking to know! The AT08 that is. It's really cute though actually haha. You take screenshots of when she looks fat? LOL jking. There's still something off about her to me... I guess you should know I'm watching a lot of her stuff from 2003 (when she was 25)...and it has been 5 whole years. So it might be an age thing? Do people's faces change very much in 5 years when they are grown?

She was indeed chubbier earlier this year, I thought her face looked - wider - for lack of a better word at the concert I went to. But still nowhere near fat or anything like that. In the past month or two she seems to have slimmed down considerably though. And right at this moment I don't notice much difference in her.

skin sagging? oook. maybe you just saw some bad pics/angles or something. even when she was a bit chubbier last year i hadn't noticed anything like that. last year i could very much notice her weight gain, especially from this pic:

putting on weight makes your face fatter and look different.
if you take a look at her during PCDL, she is in really good shape now.
the change in her face i notice is that since she's lost weight it looks much thinner and more beautiful

Yeah, in PCDL, she slimmed down a lot (I couldn't stop marvelling at how slim her waist got!!) she looked a lot like herself in 2006 or so. I thought, during the MC when she had her hair in two ponytails, I was thinking about how much she reminded me of when she had the same hairstyle a couple of years back. I just can't place my finger on when, but yeah. I think it's just the weight gain.

No. To me she still looks like Ayu.

The only time I could REALLY tell she gained weight was during Secret.

Earlier this year she was a little heavier for her frame...but I still don't think it was as bad as when Secret came out.

For me she havent changed so much, even that she have gotten 6-7 years older since I first started listen to her. Kind of scary in one way, hehe, she should change some! She did during AT08 but now she looks just like before again. She looks great right now, like always!

I remember a conversation like this earlier in the year. I think her metabolism's changing. I mean, she's 30, I'm sure that it's harder for her to keep doing all the late nights and training she did in her 20s! I think it's actually good that she's put on a little weight, as long as she's healthy

I've noticed too that her face just looks different.

Honestly though, I think that her appearance is greatly affected by her hair color/styling, level of tan, and makeup style, in addition to weight, age, etc. I think she looked completely different during the I Am... days than she does now, but she was also, on the whole, much tanner and accentuated different parts of her face with makeup. I think for a few years she didn't look very Asian at all, and now looks pretty Asian again.

j/k People change over time, so seeing Ayu change ain't nothing surprising. Comparing her now to her poker face debut is like, whoa XD So she's changed a lot of course

AGREE HANDS DOWN!! i REALLY REALLY want to know how she loses weight so fast!! is it because she doesn't eat eggs??

Her face is chubbier thats all....I think I first kinda noticed when I watched A-Nation 08....I mean she went from super bony (CDL 07-08) To chubby (well actually maybe this first became apparent in Mirrorcle World cover)...I think she looks way better this way...cant really say how but the added weight enhances her look....plus I'll take a chubby Ayu over a scary skeleton (No Way to Say @ JapRecAwards???) version anyday.

she looks fuller. and her face looks softer now... maybe its the eyebrows. they have a more subtle arch to them. and her features don't look as sharp and harsh anymore (like her eyelids, her smile, the circles under her eyes)... she probably had those gel injections to plump up and fill in her face. and im not referring to botox.

^ OMG yeah, her EYEBROWS!!! She used to have arched eyebrows that really sharpened up her features. Now she does look softer. Yeah, softer, that's the word.

Well, I didn't notice that anything changed on her these days. But yeah I agree! Your body reacts different after some time, so does hers! Maybe she gets tired faster than usually.. She is also probably tired of all things going on so if she has bags that's normal
If she gained weight that's a good thing, she's not fat, she'll just look more like a woman. If you get what I mean Haha..
