2009～THE Year of BESTs and Compilations～

Maybe its just that I haven't paid much attention in previous years to what other artists are releasing, but I cannot believe this many Best albums and compilation albums have been released this year! I opted not to make this into a poll because the winners would be too obvious.

What was included: Best albums and some compilation albums released within 2009 by well-known artists in Japan and those popular at AHS.
What was not included: Obscure artists and EXILE's BALLAD BEST (although one of the best selling albums of the year it was released 12/2008.)

I don't think it's that uncommon Look at how many BEST OF albums there are in the Oricon 2008 top 100. For example:

And that's just a small part, there are way more best of albums to find in that list.

I guess BEST OF's are just a really big deal in Japan

2009 much more best album been released than 2008. EXILE LOVE was studio album, not BEST album

There were indeed some random compilation albums..however, this year also had quite a bunch of pretty good original albums!

my Classics by Ayaka Hirahara is not a best or a compilation, it's an original studio album, aside Jupiter in this album, all are new songs
New songs are sampled from classical music, that's why it's called my Classics!
