Anyone like CORE OF SOUL?

Their new album is coming out in stores soon, I'm suprised no one talks about them that much. I think they're very underrated. Fukiko, has one of the best voice in the J-Music scene right now.

ONE LOVE, ONE DAY, ONE LIFE

1. 希望ヶ丘の風
2. アゲハ
3. Lay Now
4. 今が光る
5. Darlin' My Home
6. 恋の海
7. 夢乗りRIDERS
8. 粉雪のきもち
9. Hello Hello ~another star~
10. リンネテンセイ
11. クジラ -unplugged-
12. FULL MOON PRAYER -unplugged-

Quite underrated indeed.

Favorite songs:
-The Spirit of This Place
-Natural Beauty

I still need to get just one of their CDs! I don't have anything by them. I think I'll add their first album to my Yesasia order. ^-^

I love CORE OF SOUL!

I'm even keeping up a Wikipageabout them. (any help is very welcome!)

Sadly though, I don't actually own any of their albums.
I am going to buy them all, and at least the Purple Sky Single.
Definately.

They also have a PV Collection DVD coming out on February 22. Hooray!

Actually, the preview of Hikki's Keep Tryin' reminded me of CORE OF SOUL immediately.

Yeah, it is unfortunate that very few people know about them, and quite underrated.

I've pre-ordered my 'ONE LOVE, ONE DAY, ONE LIFE' 2 days ago, can't wait to listen to it.

I've gotten around to buying all their albums already, I ordered them straight away as soon as I got my pay from my first job several months ago. Couldn't afford them earlier other than 'RAINBOW', which is cheaper, considering their albums are only available in Japan versions.

Personally, I'm not that excited about their PVs though, but I'd love to hear a live from them since I've never seen any of their lives.

PS And it sucks that their releases don't even get into the Top 30 most of the time.

Yeah, it's a real shame that they don't chart very well.
They're definately a band that deserves more recognition.

I've only seen the Ageha PV. It was cute, but nothing great.
What are the others like? And does anyone happen to know where we can get them?

I just got whatever nmskalmn uploaded here a while ago.

'Photosynthesis' had Fukiko singing in a forest, then a waterfall, then a beach, then kinda a beach on fire at night which was pretty cool.

'Natural beauty' was just a beach/forest setting again.

'Yumenori RIDERS' was just footage from a street live performance, and 'Purple Sky' was really just them playing/singing in front of a plain background.

I like what I've heard of CORE OF SOUL. I have to agree, they are rather underrated =( The lead singer has an amazing and strong voice.

Pushed to the 2nd page already, *sigh*.

A Best-of album will be released on the 15th of March as you know, if you've read the March Releases thread.

I'm surprised, a Best-of released so soon after their 4th album (5th if you include the mini)

http://neowing.jp/detailview.html?KEY=TOCT-25982

Hopefully this won' t be one of those career ending Best-ofs people talk about.

It says something in the description that the First Press will include Acoustic Versions of 3 of their major tracks, plus a never before released recording of one of their songs from their pre-debut days.

*bump and revive this topic*.

I LOVE Core of Soul! I first found out about them some years ago, and I felt sad when I found out they disbanded.

My favourite songs are "Photosynthesis" and "Full Moon Prayer".

I heard LOVE (the main singer) is now doing some solo work, and recently released some material.

So, LOVE aka Fukiko Nakamura had a new album released earlier this year, in January. It's old info, but since it was never posted, I'm going to post about it:

Spoiler:
http://www.neowing.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=POCS-21901
http://www.dctgarden.com/LOVE/discography.html

LOVE
2nd Album
「Confetti Love Songs」
2009.01.14 Release
¥2,800 (POCS-21901, limited CD+DVD)
¥2,300 (POCS-21010, regular CD Only)

Tracklist:
1. Confetti
2. Oddray (オドレイ)
3. Blue Finch
4. MABATAKI
5. Chinmoku no Scorpio (沈黙のスコーピオ)
6. Devil's Cry
7. Don't Be Sorry
8. Anata wo Wasureru Sono Mae ni (あなたを忘れるその前に)
9. Subarashiki Hibi (素晴らしき日々)
10. Noside (ノーサイド) (Matsutoya Yumi Cover) (CD+DVD Bonus Track)
10. Baby And Teddy (CD Only Bonus Track)

Oooh. It seems that the DVD will feature full footage of a live that has mostly material from her first album but including Oddray. This pretty much implies that it'll be the Live @ Shibuya concert that she's been putting up digital singles for. The setlist of that was:

1. Opening
2. Cross the River
3. 7 days
4. Embryonic
5. Baby and Teddy
6. Singer's Blue
7. Ue wo Muite Arukou (上を向いて歩こう) (Sakamoto Kyu cover)
8. Life Like a Tree ~Asunaro~ (あすなろ)
9. My Name Is Love
10. Ayamachi no Sunny (過ちのサニー)
11. Tree wo Kazarou (ツリーを飾ろう)
12. Anata wo Wasureru Sono Mae ni (あなたを忘れるその前に)
13. Trigger
14. Garakuta Light (がらくたライト)
15. Sick and Tired
16. Look Around
17. Oddray (オドレイ)

Bold = new.

^ She has a first album? Woah, I never knew that, lol.

Is her music more or less the same as the music she did in Core of Soul, or is it different?

well, its not exactly the same stuff, but you can really feel that its still her.

her first album was Embryo Love Songs

theres something about it that isn't quite as interesting as confetti love songs though...

^ Oh, I see.

Have you ever seen/heard Nami Tamaki's version of Full Moon Prayer? OMG, it's so good. *__* If I remember correctly, she sang this song when she auditioned for Sony Music before she got her record contract, and she was like 13 at that time, or something. o_O She sounds and looks so mature.

Link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dYUZgI2aEc

Full Moon Prayer is my favourite Core of Soul song.

double post, but I bought Core of Soul's "Natural Beauty" album a few days ago! It is their first album. It is a bit short in length, being only 9 tracks, and one of the songs is an interlude I think.

But I did enjoy the album. I like how Fukiko uses a lot of English in her songs, I love it. ^^

I never heard the song "Natural Beauty" before, so I really enjoyed it when I gave the song a listen, and heard it for the first time.

"Photosynthesis" and "Full Moon Prayer", I had already heard, and now that I own the album, I can play it, yay, lol.

I think the best songs on the album are the songs released as single. I didn't find any album tracks that stood out, or were really strong.

And the CD booklet of the album is beautiful. <3

I think in some pics, the 3 members are playing cat's cradle? It sorta looks like it with the strings and stuff, lol.

^ Ok, I'll give "3" a try, lol, funny album title.

And also their Rainbow mini-album.

Oh, I forgot to mention I looked in my "Natural Beauty" album cd booklet, and Fukiko is credited with writing a lot of the songs. And I think the other 2 guys are mentioned also on some of the songs, but I am not too familiar with what their names are, lol.
