TOKIO - “Honjitsu, Mijukumono/Over Drive”

JE band TOKIO will release their 38th single Honjitsu, Mijukumono/Over Drive on August 15, and their second single of 2007. The single will come in the CD-only format and a limited edition CD+DVD version. The limited edition includes a DVD with the PV to Honjitsu, Mijukumono, making-of footage and a special booklet while the regular edition includes an unreleased new track, Backing Track’s for both A-sides, and a first press bonus of a live rock version of Sorafune.
Honjitsu, Mijukumono will be used as the theme song for the summer drama Juken no Kamisama. It’ll penned by former J-Pop artist Nakashima Miyuki, who is responsible for TOKIO’s mega hit Sorafune.
TOKIO debuted with the single LOVE YOU ONLY in September of 1994. What sets them apart from other JE groups is the fact that they not only sing and dance but they also write, compose AND play their own instruments. Their name comes from the old romanization of Tokyo City. Last years Sorafune/do! do! do! was #14 on the best selling singles of 2007 list and one of TOKIO’s most successful singles. The members of TOKIO also act in dramas and Nagase Tomoya is famous not only for his acting and singing but also because of his six year relationship with J-pop queen Hamasaki Ayumi. The pair announcement their engagement in April of this year.
