Here are the calculations I did for Koda Kumi, just for fun/to delay on doing some actual study work :
(Please note that I counted only Oricon singles and albums. This means that actual sales WILL be higher since Oricon doesn't count everything.Also, these numbers are from wikipedia and as such WILL be outdated. Just take this as a general indicator XD. The final number is rounded down.)

Koda Kumi: 12.500.000

She really isn't that far from making the top 40. Unless someone passes her by in the next couple of year she should be able to make it ^^

Porno Graffitti has sold a total of 12.800.000 copies so far, but I don't see them ever reaching the list considering their albums sell in the 100k range nowadays and their singles don't reach that high.

Its always just nice to see ayu up there.
And then everyone else whose lower but still good artists and nice sales. Very fortunate.
