P.S. II thoughts? (severely underrated)

I will admit, when I first received LOVEppears (my first official Ayu album), I ALWAYS skipped this track as that obnoxious, harsh and NOISY intro began. However, I happened to listen to it all the way through years later and recently have found a true admiration for this track. I think if you also feel this track is not a good one (I remember someone recently pointing out how bad this track is in another topic), you should really give it another chance. I prefer it to POWDER SNOW even.

and my God, that BRIDGE! The bridge of this song is one of the most, if not the most, heart-wrenching of pieces in all of Ayu's works. The way the composition unfolds here - the direction in which it turns... the way the melody works with the arrangement and the emotion behind Ayu's voice. It's utterly heartbreaking, magnificent, and truly beautiful. I melt as this part unfolds, every time.

"The flowers I thought would have bloomed here
are now gone. It was inevitable.
Even if the day comes that you
hear this song alone, please don't forget."

So, do you appreciate this track? I suggest you really give it a few more shots, truly analyze the song and try to find the beauty behind it.

I absolutely ADORE P.S. II, from the first listen. It may not sound as dramatic as POWDER SNOW, but the instrumental has much more impact and there's an aura of echoes/darkness in it that simply gets me. And YES the bridge totally shatters hearts. Everything about it flawless to me, it is my favorite "part II" song of ayu, possibly one of my Top 10 tracks of her.

P.S II is really, really beautiful. I might even enjoy it more than POWDER SNOW. But can't really compare the two since they're completely different genres that only share the same chorus. But P.S II is severely underrated. I feel that LOVEppears in general is underrated lol

P.S. II (along with monochrome, immature, And then, kanariya, and too late) would be one of the songs I'd often listen to on the train between Jersey and NYC throughout the years. P.S. II just went so well with the scenery along the tracks—gritty industrial buildings and urban decay.

Anytime I think of LOVEppears, I think of big city life. Walking through NYC, riding the subway, people watching, the congestion, the smell, the overall vibe. The experience of listening to that album just takes on a deeper meaning.

I love the intensity of this song. She's really laying her emotions bare here.

Funny that you say this because I was living in New York from Sept 2013-January 2014 and LOVEppears was what I was in the mood for on the plane ride there and often times while living there and traveling by subway, etc. I really felt an intense love for P.S. II then.

Yesss, I feel such a similar mood.

Different songs and different albums create and fit into different environments and settings and I love that.

About this song though. I really love the composition of it until it gets to the reused chorus. It's just meh to me in that song. So it would be perfect if it had it's own unique one I think. And fit it better. So I love POWDER SNOW more. But I mean, the original is one of my favorite ayu songs.

I LOVE P.S II and I honestly think it's better than POWDER SNOW. To be honest it took me quite a while to like POWDER SNOW (mostly because of the vocals), but I love P.S II from the start

wut this song is amazing.

Pure LOVEppears greatness. This Ayu was so raw and powerful with her conviction. And some of it just done in that 2000 pop sound, but it's just timeless. I mean

immature needs some more love too cause damn. Gonna listen to it right now.

I LOVE P.S II but it's kind of a funny story. I got it named as Powder Snow, and for like 4-5 years I thought this is Powder Snow until Ayu sung it live at Premium CDL and it made me think it's some ballad version, I was cunfused for quite a while when finally I decided to download the first albums (as a whole instead of the separate tracks I used to have back then) and so I discovered these are two songs

They call LOVEppears "The Ayu Bible" for a reason. Every single song flows perfectly throughout the entire tracklist. There are songs I would not necessarily play separately but when listening to the album, there is no song that I would be inclined to skip or delete from the playlist.

I love P.S. II so much!
Somehow I find it much darker, sadder and more "hunted" than POWDER SNOW. More desperate or something.

P.S II is one of my favourite songs!
From the beginning, when I heard it first. And I didn`t even know, it was connected with POWDER SNOW, a song I don`t like, before some time later.
The atmosphere is just so beautiful, haunting and calming at the same time. Dark and sad, but also some kind of acceptance and wisdom , especially together with the lyrics. Also her voice works so well with the music (on contrary to POWDER SNOW e.g.).
The whole LOVEppears album is among my favourites.

And Then is just my song basically! It needs to get a full revived performance!!

I do love P.S II. But before I knew it was POWDER SNOW 2 (I hadn't heard POWDER SNOW or even the A Song for XX album at that point >.< so I thought it was P.S. as in a postscript of a letter) I imagined a PV of Ayu dressed in an arabian/Princess Jasmine style crossing a desert looking for hope or something without form. I like having two styles of the same melody because it is desperate in POWDER SNOW but powerful and has more force in P.S. II.

I consider both pretty dark, but POWDER SNOW is much brighter (something Ayu thought, too, and didn't like - she came up with adding the tolling bells at the end in order to darken it a bit)... POWDER SNOW ends up sounding more sad & mournful, but P.S II is more frustrated & angry. Which makes sense when you read the lyrics - POWDER SNOW sounds like the girl who's suicidal ("That I'm wrong, and that it's all my fault... That's all my heart carries anymore. I don't need a tomorrow."), P.S II sounds like the angry friend trying to talk the girl out of suicide.... If you look at the words, the punctuation changes from one song to the other, making it seem like P.S. is asking "can I show my feelings" and P.S II is saying "Yes, you can, dammit!! Don't give up on that!"
