I always wondered about A Song for XX from A Ballads and just how it was included on that release. I suppose it could be thought of as a power ballad, but I dunno.

^Actually, the main reason i asked was because in my english class, my teacher said that a ballad was a "narrative poem that is sung." upon hearing that, i realized that a good percentage of ayu's songs were ballads. Although, a friend informed me that a ballad was a usually soft song.

So i was confused, and asked. Its not that i'm disoriented with her songs. I just didnt know which ones were specifically ballads or not.

Most of the time, the slow ones are ballads.

Some like 'ASFXX' and 'M' are rock-ballads.

The day that A BALLADS came out we started our ballads unit in poetry, it was really bizarre. But yeah, ballads technically tell stories, and if you read Ayu's songs and think about them, they really do tell a story. And a ballad doesn't have to be slow either. They're great, I love 'em, and I can't wait for the next one.

The answers will different greatly depends on who you ask. And someone might actually list them as all ballads, depending how they define ballad or which definition of the word "ballad" to use.
