Yeah, she's worn a "Jesus Died for You" t-shirt before, hasn't she? I think I saw it in Stadium Tour 2002 - not during the concert, but in one of the backstage scenes.

I wonder if she knows what it means? She probalby does...she's religious, right?

It doesn't look like her in the first picture though. It looks more like a European person.

The white top is from an episode of "Ayu Ready" FYI

p.s. The "Jesus Died For You" shirts were a fashion trend in Asia at the time.

Yeah, even if she does know what it means, it doesn't mean that she is a religious person. I've seen atheists wear those.

Well it's good to know it is her. I think the shirts are hilarious. Well..you know..

There also shirts that are a trend in US that say "Mary is my homegirl" and I think a girl I know has the "Jesus is my homeboy" shirt.

... Even though they /are/ a trend, I still think that Ayu is religious.

I don't know why you would risk your career and put hundreds of dollars into the production of a Maria-esque song if you didn't really believe in it.

And I think that "Jesus is my Homeboy" is a tiny less serious than "Jesus Died for You".

...Think about it. She's an idol, not a school girl. People will be hanging on her every fashion statement. (Which is why I believe we haven't yet seen her in one of those popular Engrish shirts slathered in incomprehensible 'vulgarities'. You know. Those 'F you I room GIRL SHINE!' shirts, etc.)

There's a thread around somewhere about Ayu's religion. There's a very small percentage of people in Japan that are christian, and I'm guessing most see it as a Western phenomenon. And as western stuff is trendy... I'm pretty sure 'M' etc reflects Ayu's interest in Western culture. Most people in Japan are a mixture of Shinto and Bhuddist.

I hear she wrote M after someone told her the story of Mary, so I'm pretty sure it's not something she was raised on.

Uhh, actually, there was a photoshoot where Ayumi wore an accessory that said the F-word.
Not only that, her line of MTRLG clothing once featured a marijuana leaf (which made me wonder if she knows what it was)

doubtful. and yes ayu has worn items with slander on it LOL i love the hello kitty outfit with the f-you jewelery!! lmao!!

and the song M, IMO, really isn't about religion per se. it's about love. but yeah, its kind of like how in american fashion there are kanji on shirts and no one has any idea what they say but where them anyway...cause they're cool.
