Itunes-how do you organize your music (playlists)?

How do you organize your music, physically? And on your computer (itunes)? Do you have special playlists, and what are they?

You can talk about how you organize your Ayu-music, too, on this thread

I'm not using iTunes atm, i'm using amaroK but the interface is about the same.

I have every song id3 tagged properly & completely (or did, i'm rebuilding my collection now & have to start over), and i just have one big playlist organized by artist, then alphabetically by release, then in track order inside that. Pretty much the same on my HD right now, but it used to be just alphabetically by artist & release. Artists didn't each have their own folders like they do now. I also put it in thumbnail view so you could see the CD cover when I was in windows, but i prefer list view now with everything organized by artist. Ayu's folder (then and now) is separate from anyone elses. Each directory is a release, named first with the Year-Month-and Day of release so they're in chronological order. Only mp3s in there, no cd covers; all my cd cover scans are in with my ayu site content directory.

You can alos make smartlist. Go to file and click New Smart Playlist. Name it then right-click and select edite. All you have to do is type in what artist or song. I usually do artist. Everything else is pretty easy. Make sure if you want your playlist to have as many songs as you want to uncheck the song limit at the bottom.
