I'm surprised how 'little' they've sold eventho they've released so many albums , I thought DAI was more popular than that ....

^I agree.
They were far too underrated.
Even more so considering they were the first Japanese music I ever heard in my life.
If it wasn't for them, I would not be here right now.

I do think they are underrated too. And the reason imo probably because mainstream just sells the best whether you like it or not and DAI don't exactly fall into the category of mainstream.

well I'm not really surprised at the low sales. DAI has some very strong hit songs, but most of their album tracks are very bad and weird...like some random beat put together. Need your love album didn't really have any stand-out singles nor album tracks, hence the poor sales. I think that's why AVEX decided to break them up.
On the other hand, Van's new album Farewell is AWESOME! I can't stop listenning to it. I guess the break up was a good thing afer all.

AVEX didn't break them up. It was a group decision and Dai Stated Avex was getting to Controlling. That's one of the reasons the band Broke Up.

yikes..O.o. Considering their popularity ..those are very low figures. But i do agree with whoever said that their single tracks are awesome but their albums songs r not as good...and sometimes downright bad.
