Fresh from the release of Kodoku no Kakera on May 23, Angela will be releasing her 7th single Tashika ni… on July 11. Said to be a summer pop tune, this will be Angela third single since releasing her debut album Home in June 2006. This will also be the second single to come in a CD only format. Just like Kodoku no Kakera, this single will come with only one original track and a piano version of the track. Since Angela mentioned she’d like to have her second album out by August, it seems like these last two singles have been rushed, mainly due to the fact that there’s no original B-sides. We could probably expect one more single before the next album.

Angela released her first album, a full English album, in the US in 2000 and in 2005, released her first mini indies album in Japan, ONE. It peaked at #231 but during the release of Home, shot up to #80. Angela is best known among gaming fans for her contribution to the PlayStation 2 game Final Fantasy XII in which Angela performed the image song Kiss Me Good-bye, with the version used being entirely in English.

Thanks for the news. That's exciting because I love her music.....

But I think this should probably go in the Asian forum because even though she occassionally sings in English, she's without a doubt considered a "Japanese Artist".

Many ppl think she does not sing Jpop, cuz she has a realli heavy influence on Elton John (Noboe Uematsu said so, who is he? Final fantasy music composer)

but I see nothing of Elton John in Angela Aki. She's too unique to be compared to other artists.

Well she's still singing in Japanese just as much as any other singer to be considered Japanese, with those few cover exceptions and her original album. I'm just saying that if you go to any Japanese CD store here in Tokyo, she IS listed in the J-Pop section, not World Music or anything like that.

EDIT: This isn't supposed to sound argumentative though, so don't think I'm saying this in an angered tone.
