I personally think FL is the best and simplest you're gonna find. The plugins and generators are pretty useful. The only downside is that you can't use traditional music notation.

Well, it also depends on what you're trying to do. Do you want to create a track and arrange it with various instruments or just compose music? If you want to compose music, then you should try software for creating MIDIs.

I can never really figure out how to use FL myself. And I've tried quite a few times, but I guess I'm just no good at it.

I second this request! I really need some good music-making software, too. I really like the kinds where you drag the instruments onto the set and then arrange it with other instruments. So far, I only know of GarageBand that does that, =/

FL Studio is such a nice and powerful music composition software. But you know, my knowledge in using it is just SOOOOOOO Limited. LOL! I have already used "Fruity Loops" and i think, i really really need to find more. (T_T)
