Key

I was just wondering if there is a known reason why Key is listed as ~eternal tie ver.~. Like is there an original version or something?

It's just the title she decided to use when making the song.

Much like Memorial address ~take 2 ver.~ but that one is highly debated as opposed to Key.

^Memorial address, like A Song for XX on A BALLADs, was recorded in one take, so I thought the "take 2 version" there meant that there was some sort of mix up on take 1, and so she had to start over, thus take 2.

With Key, maybe Ayu wasn't happy with the Original mix of it and changed it last minute? Or maybe she wanted to confuse us into thinking there was another, unreleased, version of it.

Some think that take 2 is a take on the fact that the original song "Kumo / Spider" was the "first take" of the song.. I think that it's unlikely that she tried to record Memorial address in one take / two takes, especially since it was a new track [and there's been no recorded fact of her actually saying anything about trying to record it in one take / two takes as opposed to Secret or ASFXX (which is labelled as 030213 session #2, because of the 2nd take)..]

As for Key, I imagine there is little to no significance towards the title. She just felt like subtitling it with "eternal tie ver."

This is an unknown song that was recorded for the third album Duty. It was born from ayu's desire at the time to "create a song to commemorate a celebration, like a wedding." The subtitle ~eternal tie ver.~ also suggests this feeling.
I invite listeners to read the lyrics of this track out loud, as I remember how impressed I was by their completeness, especially given that it was only her third album. Although there was talk of doing a retake, we found that the original take was important as something that could only have been created at that particular time in ayu's career. Thus, we recorded it with only some remastering.
She used the original when putting it on A BALLADS [the same one she used on Duty] and she addresses that Key's subtitle is only a subtitle. Reading into things that don't need to be read into imo, isn't necessary, but it is somewhat fun until an answer comes up.

Anyone who does want to translate can use the beatfreak article for Memorial address to further examine it:

It looks to me like she intended for Memorial address to be like "teddy bear" in a way.

Key doesn't have an original version, I remember reading some interview for RAINBOW or something that she used the~eternal tie ver.~ subtitle cause she wanted to make Key a song that could be sung at a wedding or soemthing along those lines...

While Memorial Address, the take 2 version I think refers to how its kind of a cover. She took the music from the song Kumo by LOVER SOUND TRACK and just rewrote the lyrics.

At least that what I think, from my knowledge of Ayu's songs LOL

Key ~eternal tie ver.~ imo, is the original mix and it's only a subtitle. As they say ayu wanted a song commemorate for an occasion like a wedding so she wrote this song"lyrics" and put the subtitle ~eternal tie ver.~ to emphasize that that song is for couple/wedding. Eternal tie means being stick together forever.. hmmmp?

~eternal tie version~ is just a subtitle.

It's on both the "original" Duty one and the A BALLADS one because they're the exact same song. Read the thread, people.
