AYU DVD ISSUES
ive never had issues with player her dvds in my laptop before
I USE VLC but now when i try to play her OFFICIAL dvds it skipps around ... pixelates.. and instead of sound ive got a skipping white noise but if i put in my bootleg dvds they work fine ive tried an older version of VLC with no luck and i have no DVD decoder installed so i cannot use Windows Media Player all other DVDs work but ayus

If you're gonna watch an ayu concert on your laptop, why not just get a high quality ISO and play it? The best way to watch a DVD is with a TV so I suggest getting a region free DVD player. Seriously, my dad got one at some asian place for like $25
|

^ I think by official means it isn't a bootleg. So I think he's trying to say that it is supposed to be of better quality since bootlegs... well, you know.

i see...official=original...
i hate bootlegs...but bootlegs are region free while original JP version is region 2...but so far i have no problem at all since i got a china brand dvd player at home :p

I got the same problem as you before. I was trying to play Ayumi dvd Japan version (region 2) using the latest VCL tht time and those noisy pixelated thingy u mentioned occurred but the VCL plays fine when I play region 3 dvd, since my laptop dvd player is region 3. After that I tried install VLC 0.8.6 and voila~ now I can watch my Ayu region 2 dvd.
like nanako said, bootlegs are region free, thats why it got no problem with the latest vcl but you will got problem to play dvd with region not compatible with your dvd player. I think you should be fine after intstall the 0.8.6, just like me

what about Media Player Classic?seems like people prefer using VLC than MPC...hmm...
