One 浜崎歩 is listed as a voice actor in the credits for an "Art of Fighting" DVD that is scheduled to be released on 26 September 2003:

I wonder what it means that "ayumi" is written in kanji? I haven't had any luck finding more news about this release. I don't know if this could be the "Art of Fighting" CMs Ayu did when she was younger or something else. I'll update this thread when I have discovered more information.

I don't know what that may be either, but it does look like it is referring to the Art of Fighting she did the CM for, as I see SNK in the text and they were the company that made the game (the company, in its original form is now out of business, by the way).

Yeah, that's Ayumi's name in kanji (it's rarely used but I believe it was used at least once in her swimsuit modelling video)

Apparently this is an animated special that was broadcast 23 December 1993. If Ayu did the voice-acting in this anime, why haven't any of us ever heard of it?

There are alot of ayu's old dramas and things that alot of people haven't heard of (her part in "Miseinen" isn't very widely known either, nor his her part in ALOT of older dramas such as "Like grains of sand"... she's been in alot more that we don't even know about). Chances are it was a small part that she didn't ever really talk about just cuz it never came up. *shrug*

There was a topic about this a while ago. The kanji for Ayumi means 'a step' in Chinese and means the same thing (or very close) in Japanese. Ayu had this name because her mother wanted her to be able to walk on her own, as in be independent one day.

I know what the meaning of 歩 is. Ayumi Hamasaki's name is normally written as 浜崎あゆみ. I was wondering why she was credited as 浜崎歩 on this DVD.
