Great news! Definitely a must buy for me, who's only got her trinka trinka mini-album, and her latest single. I hope this does not mean another j-pop hiatus however...

Thank you so much for posting this Karen! I went on CDJapan this morning and saw this compilation album advertised on the front page. I'm definetely going to buy this as I only have a few singles and one album. Although I'm beyond excited to buy it, I too hope that this doesn't mean she's retiring from music. I'm hoping that she is just releasing this to get people excited for her music again since she hasn't released much in the past couple of years. Maybe she may release some new material in the future and is using this to get her name out there again. Because as we know, there are a lot of artists who have released compilation albums in the past and they are still releasing new music.

OLIVIA was let go by her management (VISION FACTORY), recently. i hope it's not a bad sign (along with the BEST) that avex will drop her as well i only knew of her since...2008. so i hope she'll possibly still make music after this album, even if it's on an indie label or something.

I'm afraid it means exactly that Avex gonna drop her. Let's be honest: OLIVIA isn't profitable, because she's not popular and releasing rarely. There's no reason for commercial label to keep such artist - she should release under independent record label.

True, but I can't understand why almost zero promotion were done for her latest single and Mini album. The sales were horrible, but might not have been. I don't get it.

She needs a big "woo" right now. Like the NANA animé was.

yeah but it's her NANA driven songs that drove me into listening to OLIVIA in the 1st place

& I guess for OLIVIA's case , it's only her material that's released though avex while other stuff are managed by her now ex management company Vision Factory

the same thing applies to EXILE & Namie too . Only their material's released on avex but management teams wise , it's not run by avex but in different management companies they're both under

but doesn't both the management company and the record label go together, though? like if an artist (OLIVIA) is dropped from their management, then that means they'll be dropped by the record label too, since their sorta like partners, like avex and VISION FACTORY is with some artists (like who you've mentioned: namie, EXILE, and even nana tanimura since she's also on VF, but her record label is SONIC GROOVE, which is another one of avex's sub-labels).

I have been thinking lately "Where the f *** did Olivia go?" and now I saw this new thread and came to read this stuff about management dropping her and such. So sad I really fell in love with her music for a long time (although Trinka Trinka was not my cup of tea). Aw... I'll hope for the best.

I loved the lost lolli, and kind of wondered where that out on the edge, critizing the rules and evil side of humans, where did she go? Because truthfully, trinka trinka wasn't really what I was hoping for either.

I read an interview where she explained how she at that time was going through a hard period of time in her life, and how she is now much more happy (and much more vegetarian )

I don't wish for her unhappiness, but I miss that crazy, unique OLIVIA. The lost lolli was a revolution of music imo, and if she was to make an album like that ever again, I'd die from happiness.

I'm hoping that when VF dropped, avex's own management picked her up or some other company. Like Lisa, I'd like her to continue with her music. :sad
