-Going to see Ayu live- How to prep?
It only recently realized that if I wanted to, I could get a job and save up money to go see Ayu live. When I realized that, I couldn't stop praying for an opportunity to make it happen. I've always dreamed of going to Japan, and now I want to see Ayumi Hamasaki live. I've never actually flown overseas or even gone to a concert in general.
So now I have to ask the questions. -Would it be better to go to her Countdown Live or a summer tour concert? (I want to go to a CDL the most, I think, but I want to ask about other peoples' experiences with it) -How much money am I going to want to raise/take with me? Do you think it's worth buying goodies at her concerts? -How do I get my hands on concert tickets? -Is there anything else I need to know? -Will I faint when Ayu goes on stage? XD Anyway, I feel kinda like a noob asking all of this, but I am set on finding a way to go. |

Would it be better to go to her Countdown Live or a summer tour concert?
It depends on the type of atmosphere you want to experience . For a-nation that usually takes place during Summer , they normally tend to be held in outdoor open area stadiums But usually a-nation will consists of other artistes that will perform aside from Ayu . If you listen to other artistes besides her , then it will be something you can consider For her CDL , it always has taken place at Yoyogi since she 1st started holding CDL's I haven't been to her CDL's so I don't know but I guess if I were you , I will go for CDL How much money am I going to want to raise/take with me? It depends on how many days you plan to go/stay in Japan + in addition , do you want to only base yourself in Tokyo or explore other prefectures in Japan besides Tokyo ? Do you think it's worth buying goodies at her concerts? 100% yes & the pictures of concert goods you see online sometimes don't do justice to the goods when you personally see them at the concert venue When I went Tokyo 2 years ago to see BREAKERZ's concert , a lot of their goods that I saw online do not do justice when I personally saw them being sold at the venue + I ended up buying a lot more than expected despite them looking quite ugly xD In addition , I asked myself when will be the next time I can personally buy their concert goods as most of the time , I rely on my friends or my friends' friends to do that for me How do I get my hands on concert tickets? - You can ask someone in TeamAyu to ballot tickets on your behalf - Buy tickets via some online ticket websites such as e+ , Lawson & Ticket Pia but these websites usually don't have that good seats as it's generally assumed that the better/best seats are allocated to TeamAyu members - Buy reseller tickets online via auction sites or stores found in Harajuku but you usually have to pay a premium cost to top up over the original cost of the tickets , especially if you want to get good seats Is there anything else I need to know? Other than going for her concert , where else do you want to visit/go if you're in Tokyo (assuming that you're going to stay put in Tokyo for x number of days) Will I faint when Ayu goes on stage? XD LOL I don't know about fainting when you finally see her onstage but I do know that I was completely star stuck when I finally saw her last Sat when she performed at a-nation Singapore >____<

What worked out nice for me when purchasing goodies was that I printed out pictures of them all and wrote numbers next to each goodie, representing the quantity I wished to purchase. I then stapled the sheets together and basically just handed it over to the clerk at the concert.

^ While standing in the line I was given a piece of paper (by the staff) with all items you can purchase so I could just point to them on that paper. They were given to all non-Japanese people.

In 2012 I just pointed to what I wanted and held up my finger for the number I wanted.
I prefer countdown live concerts because the setlists are usually more varied and you get a better mix of songs (in my opinion). It's also really easy to get to and around Yoyogi stadium which is where they're always held, as opposed to going around to different cities like an arena tour. You'll probably scream and possibly cry when you see her live for the first time, I didn't expect to but that's what I did. ![]() |
