Should Ayu perform No Way To Say again live?

Seems weird that Ayu seems to avoid (for lack of a better world) this song considering it's popularity. Thinking about it, the other big ballad from Memorial Address doesn't get performed a lot too.

I'm a big fan of No way to say. If she sang it live, I would cry a lot. I wonder why she doesn't sing it either because it's definitely one of her best ballads ever both lyrically and musically imo. I really hope she's going to sing it someday.

I'd love to hear it performed live again. It's not one of my favorite ballads but I certainly love it. that and forgiveness were lovely songs on that album

It's just another song in Ayu's line of generic ballads made to appeal to the Japanese market. She can perform forgiveness and Memorial Address as much as she wants to, but No Way to Say imo can die in a corner. It was composed to sell the single and EP - and it did a good job at that, no need to perform it nearly 10 years later.

It does sound generic but I don't believe its purpose was to stack cash. I think she wrote the song from her heart with intentions of sharing her feelings. She must have felt BOUNCEBACK's composition fit the vision of "No way to say".

No way to say in the main set-list as one of the main ballads... I don't quite favour that idea. I don't care for the song that much, not at this point in her career.

I believe the lyrics are our usual heartfelt Ayu, like for just about every of her songs.
But the composition was clearly a cash-grab and there's a reason it was released as single, maybe even used at all. The same reason CAROLS, HEAVEN...are released as singles and get major promotion.

I have the feeling avex for a long time asked Ayumi to include one of those generic ballads onto every album of hers - and she just did the best she could to turn them personal through lyrics, but the songs itself remain massproduced pop tunes for the J-Pop winter market.

This... I don't get the same people complaining Ayu is "not creative enough anymore" asking for generic summer and single tracks pretty much any Avex it cute girl could release...

It might be generic, but at least it has a nice, memorable pop melody.

I'd take that any day over the string of crappy generics she's released since Secret.

However, with her current vocals...it would probably be on key, but really ugly to listen to.

^I agree to all points.

No Way To Say is an amazing Ayu ballad, way better than her current ones. I don't care if the music and composition is generic or whatever. The melody is better, lyrics is great and I would take this kind of songs any day before her current ballad style a la hbya or such.

I would love it if Ayu did it live again, if she had her "old" voice. With this current one she might as well just leave it for now.

AHS married to Maro
~13/1-2010~

Spoiler:
We had such a nice time. We started dating in t2m PV, took it slow you know, let our love grow. Then it got really serious in 2008. Then after AT2009 we moved in together. It was lovely. Then on AT2010 he asked me to marry him. He was such a sweet. And Ayu gave us our blessings. She was also such a sweet. Now me and Maro are such a sweets together. Aaaw, how time flies.

I don't think it's generic, I effin' love this song. What the Hell isn't "generic" to AHS? Some Eyes, Smoke, Magic and the next LOVE trash? I wipe my ass with that garbage.

No way to say is one of my favorite songs and it is PERFECT for the winter season. To me it is her best winter ballad (along with Days which I know everyone thinks is "generic" as well). That being said, I am not dying for her to perform it live again. She did at BEST of CDL.

Just because it is catchy doesn't make it generic. It also has a great melody. I would say that's what it takes to make a good song.
